“Rubbish food”
Reviewed July 24, 2013

Dropped in here for lunch on July 19th and it was dreadful and expensive. We were not told that the food ordered could not be supplied as per menu. Portion was tiny! for €11 we got what can only be described as a starter at best or a childs portion. It was tasteless and the salad was wilted and limp. Staff were not interested in our complaints and went into hiding! We sat outside enjoying the wonderful view in the sunshine and were told we had to go inside to get a menu, decide then go in to order and bring out our own drinks. It wasn't as tho' they were busy, there was only a couple of people there!

“So so disappointing! Staff ,disinterested ,service brutal and menu advertised not available!”
Reviewed July 22, 2013

We are locals and have continually
Over the last few weeks been down to hotel most evenings for either a drink or food. On all occasions without exception the service has been truly awful. You have to wait at bar for an unacceptable amount of time and when bar tender does arrive no apology is offered and staff lack any personality or customer service skills. This also extends to the waiting staff in restaurant, there isn't enough staff on and there doesn't seem to be anyone taking control or an interest in customers.you have to wait so long to order and in between courses, noone asks if you want a drink while you wait or if you're ok. Plus not everything that was on menu was available and this wasn't explained at offset so even more delays whilst have to rethink order.we live at and love Creevy pier ,the hotel has so much potential but its reputation for the above is now wide spreadplus there is no atmosphere or music in background.we have now decided to drink and dine in rossnowlagh where customer service and a welcoming atmosphere are of paramount importance. Would love to ho

“Has a lot of potential!!!”
Reviewed July 17, 2012

We booked for a meal here on a week day night two weeks ago, beautiful place with fantastic views, the hotel has major potential, but the food we got was very disappointing, service was slow for a quiet night,I seen two chefs there so they were not understaffed, the menu is very basic not complicated,we firstly got old bread rolls, then followed by vegtable soup that was so thick my wife could not eat it,I had a mackerel starter, that the chefs had obviously tasted,it was disgusting, for mains my wife had battered fish and chips, quality is better than quantity,we left almost all of our main course including the old potatoes that I got,our waitress who between each course I hoped would ask is everything did not, even when we were paying,we eat out a lot and would like to come back at some stage,I hope these matters will be taken into consideration.

“Don't touch it with a bargepole - the staff only see you as an inconvenience.”
Reviewed June 17, 2010

We ate here on the last evening of our holiday and it really left a 'dampener' on our holiday. We have been here before and loved it but the service has gone horrendously downhill and the food is not much better. The portion sizes are much smaller than before and the staff took an eternity to serve us. There were problems with my husband's food, which he complained about. The staff forgot to bring our drinks and only bothered with us when it became clear that we were starting to lose patience. My husband asked to see the manager and was told 'She's busy, you'll have to come back another time'!! What kind of customer service is that?! When the manageress finally did decide to grace us with her prescence she made it obvious that she didn't care at all and couldn't wait to get rid of us. It was noticeable that the owner of our holiday home didn't recommend the place either - it speaks volumes when the locals don't recommend going there and suggest other places instead. We will certainly never go there again, which is a shame as we used to eat there regularly.
