Description: Belleek Castle is set in the heart of Belleek Woods. It is a cosy romantic hotel with plenty of character and award-winning restaurant. Afternoon tea is available daily from 12pm until 5pm. Tours also take place each day of the dungeons where you will get to see and hold Irelands largest private collection of armour and we also boast a collection of fossils - plus a few extra surprises! The Armada bar has been constructed from a spanish armada ship which makes it boast plenty of character and is admired by all who visit the castle. Our restaurant is cosy and romantic with an old world feel. We are proud to serve gourmet dishes without the gourmet price! Our head chef Stephen uses only the freshest local ingredients available to create masterpieces in the kichen. The castle is also an ideal wedding venue with several weddings held here every year since 1971. We strive to ensure that everyone has the most perfect day possible and where better to celebrate such an occasion than in a romantic castle.Belleek Castle is a home away from home and is well worth a visit - we hope to be welcoming you here soon!

“"Delicious food, fantastic place but avoid the men's toilets"”
Reviewed September 26, 2012

I booked a meal for a party of six in Belleek Castle Hotel recently. The hotel is amazing and we were all enchanted by the building and its beautiful contents, the restaurant was stunning we were surrounded by stags heads, stuffed birds and ancient copper items, beautiful pictures and furniture. The meal was delicioius, and the staff was very attentive and friendly, the athmosphere was really lovely. Following our meal were were giving a tours of the dungeons by a very informative lady, we viewed the late Marshall's Doran collecting of fossils and mediaeval armoury. I was delighted to see the bed apparently used by the Great Irish Warrior Queen Grace O'Malley on her visits to Ballina and we were also told that there are tunnels from the river Moy to the Castle but that are unsafe now. We were all amazed to see this wonderful collection and were very thankful to get to view the items free of change. The only fault found was mentioned by the men who came from Italy and Malta they said that mens toilets were "dirty, smelly and in need of an upgrade". I being Irishand having booked the meal was very disappointed by their comments, and I hope that management will rectify this matter. In general we enjoyed our meal and visit and we will certainly be returning.

Dear Sir,
Thank you very much for your lovely compliments - we take pride in our cooking in the castle and are delighted you enjoyed your meal. It is also great to hear you enjoyed your tour of the dungeons - we love to show our exhibitions to our guests and it is great to hear such positive feedback from the tours. Regarding the mens restrooms we apologise that it was not up to standards which we strive to maintain and hope that in the future when you return to the castle you will find them much more pleasant.

Thank you very much for your review! We have had issues with people using the toilets in the past and leaving them in a somewhat unclean state so we can be reluctant letting people in to use them. However people doing the walks in the forest are more than welcome to come into the castle and we apologise for not allowing you use our facilities.

“Fantastic experience but I'd avoid the early bird”
Reviewed August 11, 2012 via mobile

I went to this restaurant twice in the last week, once for the early bird and once for the 5 course taster menu.

The evening with the early bird was a disappointment. We had cocktails first. The mojito was very poor- prob the worst I'd ever had but my friend had the cosmo and said it was nice. We then had the early bird menu which was fine but not special. I had the beef and it was ok.

I went again on the Sunday evening and had the tasting menu for €49 which was out of this world!! The sorbet with martini shot & the druken bullock (steak) being my favorites. The atmosphere was brilliant & we stayed drinking wine in the restaurant till 11.

So the morale of the story is that this is a brilliant restaurant but not for the early bird.

Thank you for your lovely review of your dining experience at Belleek! We are sorry to hear you did not enjoy the early bird menu as we want to have everyone enjoy their experience in the castle regardless of what menu they eat from. however it is pleasing to hear you enjoyed the market menu and of course the drunken bullock! We hope you will return to the castle once again in the near future!
