After ringing the bell on the heavy wooden front doors to be allowed access, I felt like I was entering Downton Abbey. This place was so, grand and quiet, I really felt like I was visiting someone's home. Thick, lush carpets on the stairs, comfy sofas in the reading room all meant for a relaxing and peaceful stay. We had a fabulous dinner in the interesting and beautifully decorated dining room. Breakfast to follow was also good, with the best white pudding I've had so far. Set on beautiful wooded grounds, it is an escape destination. Truly a castle experience.

8 golfers, 8 single rooms, no problem. Welcomed with arms, Paul and Maya made us feel right at home from the get go. From fixing the WiFi to giving a tour of the Castle's Inner Sanctum, Paul and Maya were the most accommodating and gracious of hosts.
The food was spectacular and when the wedding party before us drank the Bar out of out our favorite whiskey, Paul went into town on a bank holiday to try and procure some from the local pubs.

The dining was the best. We made sure to get back The Castle to enjoy a full Prix-Fixe menu. The beef was some of the best I've had in Ireland.
In the morning, the kitchen opened early so we could make our Tee times. The Full Irish was my favorite, but a lot of the guys had huge omelets.
On our entire trip, we did not stay at a better hotel with a better restaurant. When the dining room has more locals than tourists, you know its good.

After some personal issues I decided to take my partner here for a night away from what troubled her. What a great decision this was , it's a beautiful hotel in beautiful surroundings , tranquil and the walks were amazing and just what the doctor ordered. Staff wonderful and food just amazing. I can not recommend this hotel and its surroundings highly enough. You should definitely visit.

We thoroughly enjoyed our trip to Belleek Castle. Not super luxurious but definitely quirky and original. Staff were very friendly and helpful. The castle houses a wonderful collection of armour and fossils. It is planned that a museum will open to showcase these.
The setting is wonderful in a woodland, bordering the river and beautiful for walking in.
The food was excellent.Great value and would definitely recommend this hotel as a place of character.

We were given a night in this hotel as a birthday gift. The room was beautifully decorated with a gorgeous views and the bathroom was nice, clean and modern.
The four poster bed was visually impressive but the mattress so old, uncomfortable and we both woke up with a back ache. No toiletries/personal care items were provided - unless you count a squeeze bottle of body wash - shampoo attached to the wall. For the money that is charged per night this should be a given as even in family run B&Bs in Ireland they were provided.
The five course dinner was absolutely fantastic but such a let down by the finer details. Small children let run wild, screaming and general disruption through the other diners. A large group had eaten and when they finished the staff dragged tables and chair noisily, roughly and with complete disregard for the remainder of the"romantic" couples having dinner. Not a word of apology to the other diners. Our glasses remained empty while the young staff stared vacantly out the windows - probably wishing they were somewhere else. For such a fine meal that the chef excelled at the remainder of the staff really them down.
Organising the bill in the morning was a complete dogs breakfast. They could not find our drinks bill and the agreed payment method of cash was instead charged to our credit card and stated could not be reversed.
This place has the ability to be so much more... It's the finer, simple things that it lacks that it let it down. Sorry but it is simply not worth the money.

We returned from an Excellant trip to western Ireland a few weeks ago, and stayed three nights here. its was a good move, we enjoyed every minute. I rather liked chatting with Keiran in the Bar ! he told me a lot about the area and his family, a nice guy, and Steven the Chef......the food was excellant, and a nice wine list......For a small charge Paul the owner gives an interesting tour around the Cellars......dont miss that ! the Drunken Bullock is tasty, and flames up to the ceiling ! So as a reviewer said it is an old building, yes it is, but thats its charm, If we are ever in that area again I would go there at the drop of a hat ! Cant praise it enough........just book it
