“Excellent for Large Groups”
Reviewed September 12, 2013

I arranged a family gathering here in August and there were 32 Adults and 8 Children. They gave us the function room which was perfect. Ann arranged a set menu for us which was perfect - 3 Starters, 4 main courses and a selection of desserts.
We were allowed to put up our pictures of old family pictures around the room before hand and the table was set perfectly in a U shape.
The service was excellent from all the waitresses - they were great with the children and also good fun for the adults. The food was well presented and very tasty. The portions were large also which accomodated to the whole group overall. After the meal a few of us went through to the bar area to listen to some trad music which was excellent also. All in and all a great night and would definately go back whether it be with my boyfreind or in a group. If you have a group event this is the place to go.

“One of the best restaurants we have ever eaten in - exceptional food and service”
Reviewed September 8, 2013 via mobile

We had our pre wedding meal here the night before. I am so glad we booked this restaurant. Fantastic quality food, well presented and good portion size. Nothing was too much trouble. Can easily see why it was voted Mayo Pub of the Year. The waitresses were friendly, attentive and professional. Beautiful inside with fairy lights and a buzzing, friendly atmosphere....magical. My mum is very fussy with restaurants and she couldn't fault it at all.

“Great food”
Reviewed August 29, 2013

Visited here recently while staying in Ballina for a couple of days. Food was plentiful and tasty and the service was excellent. One tip though to the waitresses - when you're dealing with foreign travellers who don't speak English as a first language, SLOW DOWN! We were sat beside a table of Italians and the waitresses were so quick at talking it was very funny to see the poor Italians faces as they hadn't a clue what was being said lol

“Why have a menu when you serve something totally different?!!!”
Reviewed August 27, 2013

My husband and I ate here this eve 27 Aug 13, I ordered the salmon as on menu when served (By very pleasent girl) the only thing that resembled the stated dish was the salmon! no creamed potatoes , buttered carrots served on a bed of celery, instead slimey bed of spinach, great big black boiled hard potatoes, and a dish of ratotouie (probably spelt this wrong), I ask the girl could she please take this away as it was not what i ordered and I didnt like it. She returned 5 mins later with a plate of carrots, broccoli and runner beans. it was then stated by another waitress that the chef was trying out new things!!, and that it certainly didnt go with salmon. The guiness for my husband was the most expensive we have ever paid anywhere in Ireland. Will not be returning or reccomending this place.
