Myself, my husband and another couple attended a "mixed event" in Castlebar. The remaining Participants were another couple and a group of ladies celebrating a 40th birthday. We were accommodated in The Harlequin Hotel which is a bright, modern hotel - breakfast was of good quality and plentiful. We didn't have other meals in the hotel so can't comment on those. The event was extremely professionally run and everything went smoothly. Olivia from the Company was in regular contact before the event to ensure we were kept up-to-date. Our costumes were waiting for us at the hotel on arrival and a bus transferred us to and from the event on the Saturday. Special mention must go to Brendan, our Facilitator who remained good-humoured for the duration of the event (from 5pm until 9.30 p.m. on the Saturday) and who really helped keep the atmosphere going and moved events along. We received a drink of wine on arrival and a meal during the event which was of good quality with a nice choice of food. The only downside to the event was, I felt, the room where it was held. In my opinion the room was not big enough to cater for all Participants comfortably, and you were left feeling a little claustraphobic after being in the room for hours. All Participants mixed well and indeed we all availed of the option to continue the night as a group once the event had finished by going to a local Public House where Brendan had reserved tables for us and where there was a band playing. Overall I would highly recommend this experience for a weekend away with a difference.
