Tripadvisor reviewers cannot lie - 100% excellent score talks for itself. It is my favourite and best B&B in Ireland. The room was large, spotless clean, beds comfortable, but what really makes this place excellent is its owner. You arrive ad five minutes later you feel you like are best friend with your hostess that treats you like a royal couple. One hour later and you just cant stop chattig with her. And in the morning, after fabulous breakfast, you just can't leave this place and start thinking of any excuse to stay couple of hour longer ;) Well, we left eventually, with two delicious, fresh fish in the boot of our car - a present from our new friend! (the fishing competiion were just held in the neighbourhood) making plans for a soon come back!

Thank you Hannah for making it such a perfect stay!

We had the pleasure of discovering Leim Siar unexpectedly last week. My husband, two young sons and I experienced Hannah and Gerrys welcoming hospitality and had a wonderful stay.

We arrived at 8pm after a long journey and were greeted with fresh scones and a pot of tea. We were tired and hungry and Hannah kindly offered to feed us - and what a meal we enjoyed. Fresh locally caught crab to start, followed by the most delicious Irish stew I have ever eaten. All this accompanied by Hannah's own vegetables, two types of carrots, parsnips, new potatoes, garden peas and salad with Hannah's own greens and tomatoes. Hannah played with our children while we drank tea and after we had eaten, my husband and the other guests accompanied Hannah to the pub next door till the early hours!

Our room was large and spotlessly clean. Breakfast was good.

There is lots to do in the area, with wonderful surf beaches, organised fishing trips, nature tours and lots of walking. Our children spent the morning playing in the garden, talking to the donkey and touring the vegetable patch.

Hannah and Gerry made us feel so welcome and we will definitely be back. If you want to experience Irish hospitality at it's very best go to Leim Siar.

This was a wonderful experience in a beautiful place. Hannah was so accommodating and helpful. Not to mention the slagging fun:) The house is well laid out with all of the conveniences including a delicious breakfast. A peaceful and restful location, Ellen insists we return there soon for a longer stay. Steve, Davis, CA

Drive to the lighthouse at the end of the mullet to the B&B from Belmullet, many signs are in Irish. Pass by hidden white beaches on the Atlantic side and later drive around the North Mayo Sculpture trail on Black Sod Bay. Warm welcomes by the owners, and delicious french toast, eggs and coffee greeted us in the morning. In the evening the St. Stephen's bon fires blazed the landscape and Hannah, the owner of the B&B, drove us in her car to see them and meet the people. The ashes of the bon fires were sprinkled on the crops the next day for good luck! The pub in town that night was filled with teachers who were celebrating the end of the year and we listened to ballads and danced the night away! My grandmother was born here in 1880's and as a child left on a ship from Black Sod Bay to America. This is a special place and the hospitality is next to nothing. We'll be back for sure!

A place where the famous 'Irish welcome' is alive and well. A warm greeting with tea and fresh scones - that's something you don't get in the typical chain-hotel. Hannah and her happy assistants really looked after us for our stay. Room was spacious, spotless and silent. And the bumper breakfast kept us going all day. After we'd finally managed to tear ourselves away from this wonderful part of the world...

It is a fantastic B&B, and it is really one of the best ones I have seen in Ireland so far. I stayed here in middle March 2011 and it was start and finishing point of some amazing hiking trips in Co. Mayo. I had a great time here at a beautiful place surrounded by the sea. Black Sod Bay is lovely place on its own, but surely even more enjoyable if one stay here. Hannah is lovely women, makes the best scones ever and if you like you would be taught in Irish. She manages to grow her own vegetables in the lovely back garden quite well!
There was a very warm welcome with tea/coffee on our arrival, we had the choice of which room (en-suit bathroom) suits best. The rooms were newly furbished, spacious, very clean, highly comfortable and quiet. Had a great sleep. The breakfast was fantastic, ranging from the Full Irish to fresh fruits, various cereals and the awesome scones.
This B&B is just perfect!
