We ate here on a recent trip to Dingle. The first point to make is that the adult food was pretty good - but overpriced for sure. The service was only ok. We waited a ridiculousy long time for soup and two childrens meals (almost an hour). When they finally arrived the children's food was dreadful. Overcooked chicken goujons and chips and pasta with a sauce straight out of a Dolmio jar - despite the owner's promise that the sauce was homemade. It was really BAD. In addition to this we asked for our own food - we were 3 adults - and we had not been served. There was a man in his 30/40's who was probably the owners son (looked a bit like him and was overconfident and quite snooty when we asked could we not be served together). He said that they like to serve the children first to "get it out of the way"!! In our family we like to eat together... not get our children "out of the way". I was very taken aback! Their needs - both dietry and social - were totally ignored.

The irony of all this is that when our own food came it was lovely. There was absolutely no correlation to the food that we were eating to the RUBBISH that was given to our kids and they ended up eating from our plates. There is NO excuse for this level of contempt for the country's children. For that reason I will never go there again.
I hope they read this because with very little effort they could turn this around.

While there was nothing particularly wrong with the food in Lord Bakers we found it extremely overpriced. I paid €10 for a mackerel salad starter and €26 for a Hake main. For these prices you expect exception food presented to a high standard. The food was fine but nothing special and the presentation lacked finesse. My wife availed of the early bird menu which to be fair offered better value though still lacked finesse. Overall though we were underwhelmed and certainly ate better elsewhere on our stay in Dingle. The prices are similarly high or even higher in a well known seafood restaurant in Dingle but the difference in quality is vast.

The service was adequate though we felt a little ignored at times seeing as we were hidden by a large pillar.

We'll spend our money elsewhere in future.

During our recent visit to Dingle, my wife and I decided to eat at Lord Baker's Restaurant. It was the best meal that we had during the 2 weeks that we were in Ireland. Not only did we enjoy the meal (Breast of Chicken with Herb Stuffing) but John Moriarity took time to visit with us. I can't wait to visit Dingle again and go back to Lord Baker's for another Chicken Dinner.

Service at the restaurant was exceptional, fish was fresh. But lacked all luster. $75.00 euro for 1 appetizer of 6-miniature shrimp, 2 plates of plain fish fillets with not much other then a some carrots, broccoli, and bread. Fresh fish yes I agree, but why is it SO unbelievably expensive is my question. There is alot more affordable delicious catch of the day places to have dinner, until this restaurant is able to lower their prices.

We just happened upon Lord Baker's on Main St. one night for dinner (they are also open for lunch until 2). We had an appetizer of fresh oysters--excellent! And the brown bread was one of the best we ate on our trip. The rack of Co. Kerry lamb was absolutely perfect and so was the 1/2 lobster. We would definitely return.
