“Great hospitality”
Reviewed October 10, 2012

Our stay in Dingle was absolutely lovely, and in large part due to the hospitality we encountered at Brownes B&B. From the moment we arrived, we were made to feel at home. John, our host, took out a map and gave us a detailed recommendation of all that we needed to do and see on the Dingle peninsula that day. And we are grateful he did. We saw many spectacular things that we may have missed otherwise. His food and drink recommendations should also be heeded.

Morning breakfast at Brownes is also a delight. The food was incredibly delicious and matched well with the camaraderie of the hosts with all of their guests.

Last but certainly not least, the accommodations are incredibly nice. The bed was comfortable with great linens, and the bathroom was large and modern. We wanted for nothing during our stay. If ever I am back in Dingle, I will certainly return to Brownes!

Room Tip: As for a view of the bay if it is available. Really makes the room feel even more special!

Brownes was truly our favorite place we stayed on our recent trip to Ireland. The location couldn't be any more convenient for both going into town or touring the peninsula. Our front bedroom had a beautiful view of the bay and was impeccably clean and comfortable. Breakfast each morning was generous and delicious. And last but certainly not least, Camilla and John were the best hosts, warm and welcoming, they provided us with great recommendations for what to see, where to hike, eat and go to hear music each night of our stay. Every day in Dingle had a lovely ending beside the fire with a warm cup of tea thanks to Camilla!

Camilla and John are the best - They did so many extra things over our 3 night stay that we didn't want to leave. We didn't even want to go out and explore Dingle; we just wanted to hang out and sip tea and talk to them, because they are both interesting, warm and delightful.

The home is beautiful and well run. Rooms clean and comfortable. Window views spectacular. Breakfasts beyond delicious.

It's an easy walk of about 1 mile into the center of Dingle, and John delayed his own dinner to shuttle us into town. One evening, when we insisted on walking, Camilla found us at an in-town restaurant and delivered reflective vests, so we would be safe on our walks home. On our day of departure, we tiptoed out of our room in the very early morning, only to find a delicious lunch bag packed for us. It lasted us two days!

Both of them are extremely knowledgeable about the beautiful peninsula and had lots of stories and travel tips for us.

In two weeks in Ireland, this was one of our top two stays.

Room Tip: Upstairs bedroom in front of house has a beautiful view.

We arrived in Dingle near dusk a bit weary after a long day's drive through persistent rain, wind, and fog. Camilla opened the door and we instantly knew we had made it 'home'. John showed us to our room overlooking the bay and all of the day's stress from driving on the left through the weather and on-coming tour buses disappeared. Our room was very clean with plenty of space for our luggage. The bed was very comfortable and each night's sleep very peaceful. The bathroom was spotless. Breakfast each morning was personally cooked by Camilla with the freshest local ingredients. John and Camilla went out of their way each day to make sure we had good maps, interesting reading material (eg The Islandsman), and tips on what to see, where to eat, and find good music. We were never disappointed with their advice. We were made to feel so much at home that leaving after 3 days was difficult. Ireland is a beautiful country with wonderful people. You won't find a better place to be a part of that experience than with Camilla and John Browne.

We two Chinese girls travelled around Ireland in August and stayed at five different B&Bs and John and Camilla were the keenest hosts of all. From the cookies and tea upon arrival to the 6 cheese and fruit platter for breakfast, from the free ride offer to the town center to the recommendation of excellent dining places, they really saw to every detail of our stay and even our next stop--when we told them that we were going for the Skelligs, Camilla helped to check the availability of boat seats and tipped us on the next leg. We really enjoyed the experience.

When we arrived we were early - 12pm. John sat us down and made us coffee while we waited for our room. The rooms were large and comfortable. Beds were very nice. A short 15-20 minute walk into town at a local restaurant An Canteen, and John and Camilla called ahead and booked a table for us!! Then they gave us fluoro vests for the walk home so we didn't get hit by cars (the roads in ireland are pretty thin as you would know). For breakfast, my wife had the fruit platter and I had the full irish breakfast. Both were amazing. John loaned us a map for the day and recommended sights, pubs, restaurants and anything else we wanted to know. We were staying for one night, but quickly changed it to two as we were made to feel very welcome. Really, you will struggle to find a better place to stay in the WHOLE of Ireland, not just Dingle. We are not just saying this - we have traveled most of Ireland in the past 5 weeks, staying at almost 30 different places, and Brownes B&B is in the top 2 !! ****** One tip. Take a good look at the map as to where to find this place. There is no street number or anything, and it took a while to find. Did not appear in the GPS, but looking back on the confirmation email, it was very clear in the map attached to the email.

Room Tip: All rooms are good. We had a downstairs for the first night, then upstairs for the 2nd night. Both j...

John and Camilla were so great as hosts! We felt right at home and were so glad we decided to stay 2 nights in Dingle. They had tips on restaurants and sights, and even drove us in to town one night so we could enjoy more than one pint of Guinness!

Breakfasts were delicious and the tea and cookies were wonderful after a long drive to get there.

Highly recommend this as a B & B in Dingle!
