We had been traveling around the country by car and were halfway through our trip when we got to Dingle. We had a lovely stay in this hotel, the room was recently done over and it was spacious, comfortable and decorated just right! It had Irish country charm along with all the amenities to make it enjoyable. We had two large beds which helped with all our luggage and two comfortable chairs buy the window to read and relax in. There was a large dining room that we had breakfast in each morning and several smaller rooms to use for reading. We spent a lovely afternoon relaxing from all the driving in a very "Victorian" style room with lots of windows and chintz on the furniture.
I would say this had to be one of our favorite places (we stayed in 7 hotels) because it had the right mix of class, comfort, old world charm and modern amenities.
It was also right across the street from the best pub in Dingle that offered traditional Irish music every night.

Like everywhere in Ireland, this place is overpriced. I stayed for 3 nights to attend an inconsiderate friends wedding in Dingle, I paid £140 a night. This included a very small breakfast (one small sausage, one rasher of bacon, a teaspoon of scrambled eggs and a quarter of a slice of bread fried) - very poor and was served by peope who clearly had no concept of what constitutes breakfast in the civilised world.

The reception and bar area look ok, some might say 'charming' I would say just 'old'. Reception staff were friendly and helpful. The hotel has an off road car park which was great to park my hire car in. The bedroom was furnished is the same style as reception, old dark wood, a little dusty but not too bad. The bed was of an acceptable standard, but not great. The bathroom was fine, everything functioned as it should.

In these remote parts of southern Ireland there isn't much in the way of decent hotels. There are a lot of B & Bs in the area, but if you are like me, and you don't much care to stay in a bed and breakfast then this hotel is about as good as it gets.

So on that basis, if you can't avoid having to stay in Dingle, I would have to recommend this hotel. I would however also recommend avoiding Dingle and Ireland generally if at all possible.

Thank you for taking the time to review your recent stay with us, the only way for us to improve the quality of our product is to take guests' feedback into consideration and to act upon it. I am very sorry that you did not like the property and that you found it "old", it is true that parts of the original building date back over 250 years and we try to work with this old world feel rather than cover it up with a modern facade. A lot of our guests come to this part of the country to experience the old Ireland culture and learn about its history, and we try to help to bring out some of that old-fashioned, traditional atmosphere when they are in the hotel.

We do our best to maintain high standards of cleanliness and comfort and I was sorry to hear that you found your room a little dusty. The complaint has been passed to our housekeeping supervisor and they will continue to strive to keep the highest possible standard.

Your complaint about breakfast was also disappointing to hear and also a little surprising. The standard full Irish breakfast served in our dining room consists of 2 sausages, 2 rashers of bacon, black pudding, mushrooms, tomato and potato cake, along with a choice of fried or scrambled egg (fried bread is cooked on request only). I apologize sincerely that you received less than this serving, and I do not know of another circumstance under which this has ever happened. We will do our utmost to ensure that it does not occur again.

I am sorry that you did not like Dingle or Ireland in general. Dingle was chosen as a best destination in the Top 100 World and Top 25 Europe categories by TripAdvisor in the 2008 Travelers' Choice Destinations Awards, so it is disappointing when people do not enjoy their time in this stunning part of the world. I hope that you will give Ireland and perhaps Dingle another chance some time in the future. We assure you of our best attention at all times.

Kind regards,
David Moul

The hotel is in a great location, right in the centre of dingle although parking is a bit awkward as dingle has a one way system so have to go a little out of the way to get parking behind the hotel.
The rooms were nice and the breakfast was very good.
The rooms are quite pricey though, we payed 140 euros for a double room.
It was a friday nite in peak season but still a little pricey.

We stayed two nights in a room in the old part of the hotel. Nothing wrong, but hard to justify the price - we booked through lastminute.com on the day, and paid £104 (yes thats stirling not euros) per night which is steep when you consider there is no gym, towels are skimpy, no biscuits and extra for internet access.
Staff were helpful and friendly and breakfast was freshly cooked, not a hot buffet, and while we did not take advantage of it, there were some cosy nooks in the public ares of the hotel where one could imagine spending some quiet time while it was raining outside (the weather was wonderful while we were there, so we took advantage of the sun!).
The Hotel is situated right in the centre of Dingle and the private car park is a definite benefit.

Travelled with my partner and my mother in law for a trip to Dingle and stayed in Benners only one night but loved it! clean, great location, really nice staff that went out of their way to make our stay comfortable, the hotel has a fantastic rustic feelig to it and it is really great place to stay in while in Dingle. We had Breakfast as a part of the dela, that wasnt too bad but the selection could have been better. Anyway overall would come & stay again for sure.

My partner and I were married in Dingle earlier this month and held our reception (50-60 guests) at Dingle Benners.

To be honest, we couldn't have chosen a better place. The staff (especially Muireann and David) are immensely talented and were always eager to help us and dealt patiently and effectively with the never ending emails we sent prior to the event!

The venue is cosy, comfortable and elegant all at the same time and the dining room was laid out immaculately with beautiful candlesticks and amazing and thoughtful flower displays.
The food was very reasonably priced and the portions were large and totally delicious. The waiting and bar staff as well as the restaurant manager Zahid were brillant and nothing was too much trouble.
I would recommend this venue to anybody planning a wedding in Dingle and I want to thank everybody at Benners for their role in my special day, indeed it wouldn't have been so special without them. Thanks again.
