we stayed one night at Castlewood. They were full so Brian was good enough to call Pax for us. They were both terrific but very different experiences. The facilities at Castlewood are superb. Bruand and Helen were great; but while the PAX facilities are not quite up to the same standard, they are quite nice. John at Pax is outstanding. We were there 2 nights. John was incredibly helpful in enabling us to get the most out of Dingle. If DIngle is your destination, check out PAX and Castlewood. You can't go wrong with either.

I can't begin to describe how wonderful our stay at the Castlewood House was. 5 minute walk to town, beautiful room, gourmet breakfast and extremely pleasant hostess and host.

Great location, just a short walk from town. Helen and Brian were wonderful and the breakfast was one of the best we had all week in Ireland. The rooms were lovely with skylights in the bathroom.

Castlewood House has a great location, close enough to town to walk but far enough away to avoid the noise and traffic. Our room had a panoramic view of Dingle Bay and was spacious, well appointed, and extremely comfortable. Helen and Brian are the perfect hostess and host. Helen made several good recommendations of restaurants and points of interest, and Brian saw to it that we were well fed in the mornings. Both made sure we were well cared for during our entire stay; the personal touch they provided was not like anything I've experienced anywhere else.

My daughter, husband and I stayed at The Castlewood House in Dingle for two nights a short time ago. The owners, Brian and Helen treat you like family. The rooms are large, beds comfortable and there is a top sheet which you do not always find in Ireland. The public areas are comfortable with reading material and board games should you be so inclined. The breakfast is lovely, many fruit , cereal and bread choices in addition to cooked items from the menu. It is within easy walking distance to town and all that has to offer. Many restaurants are located just within the close town area. The host made reservations for touring and horse back riding. The person conducting the tour, John O'Connor, picked us up right at the door. There are many things to do in Dingle, not the least is seeing the lovely countryside. You won't find a better place to stay than Castlewood House. It's like coming home.

Our stay with Helen and Brian exceeded our five star expectations. The inn abounds with gracious details planned and brilliantly executed by owner Helen. On our arrival Helen kindly took the time to familiarize us with the town and Slea Head drive (far superior to the Cliffs of Moher which are spectacular). Brian also graciously helped us get acquainted with their inn and Dingle. Brian and Helen made us feel like the only guests in their own home although their inn was full. "Do not miss!!!" sums up Castlewood and Helen's and Brian's hospitality.

Our room was spacious, spotlessly clean and quiet. We had a room in the front and thought there might be noise but even though we had the window open it was still quiet. Brian's breakfast is prepared with great care and offers many selections including the always excellent Irish breakfast. Help is alway there to discuss day trips and restaurants. We have traveled the world in wonderful places and found a great home at Castlewood. Be sure to peruse all of Irene Wood's paintings. The art work throughout Castlewood is not be missed. Last word, don't miss Brian's bread and butter pudding.
