“Great start, lovely time”

We arrived at Castlewood House directly from Cork Airport, tense from our first experience of driving on Ireland's skinny roads. Relaxation came quickly after entering Castlewood's door. This inn has all the intimacy, friendliness and personal touches you expect from a B&B, with all of the polish and comfort of a hotel. Our hosts were delightful, breakfast was tremendous (don't miss Brian's Omelet!), and Brian’s tips for restaurants, pubs and places to see were perfect. And the Inn is a short walk from the many delights of Dingle. As I said often, our only regret was that we planned only one night at Castlewood.

This B&B is the best B&B I have ever stayed in. The owners, Helen and Brian have owned the establishment for 6 years and they have been in the trade for about 20 years. As you would expect, their knowledge of the area is extensive and if you went to Dingle without an itinerary, they would make sure that your days are action packed. The B&B is well maintained and the room we stayed in (#10) was a massive double bedded room with bath and separate shower facilities, loads of storage space too. Tea and Coffee facilities are provided in both the bedrooms and the lounge on the ground floor. The choice at breakfast is extensive and I fully recommend the 'full Irish'. WiFi is also complementary.
The B&B is overlooking the estuary and is about a 10 minute walk from all the pubs and restaurants. I cannot recommend this place highly enough. It is a great location for driving the 'Ring of Kerry' or the Dingle peninsula. It is also located approx. 2.5 hours from Cork international airport.
We paid 150 euro per night for the room including breakfast and it was money well spent.

Room Tip: Bedrooms upstairs at the front are the besy (#10 is ideal)

My family stayed here for five wonderful nights. Dingle is a beautiful area, and staying at Castlewood House made our vacation here fantastic. The house is lovely: clean, beautiful common areas with antiques and artwork, our bedroom was more modern with comfortable beds and a large, well lit bathroom with very nice fixtures. The hosts are warm, witty and give great advice on exploring the area. The breakfasts are the best I have had anywhere- and to this day I can't stop thinking about the food there! The location is wonderful because you are close enough to walk to town (we did every day with a 7 and 9 year old), but far enough out of town that you can sleep with your windows open at night and not be disturbed by noise. (Our room was at the back of the house). We stayed in a family room, and it was perfect for us. If you are traveling with children, I would only recommend this accommodation if your children are older and can sit quietly in the dining room during breakfast. The atmosphere here is very serene, and the antiques very breakable. I can't say enough wonderful things about this place. Highly recommended.

This is one of the best places we have ever stayed. Helen and Brian are the ideal B&B hosts: friendly, charming, attentive, and great cooks. The location is ideal: within walking distance of town, next door to a delightful restaurant, and great view of the tides coming in and out of Dingle Bay. Our deluxe bayview room was spacious and very clean. The bathroom with jacuzzi tub is HUGE. Within hours of our arrival, we wanted to extend our stay (we couldn't cancel our next hotel, besides which Castlewood was fully booked). Their breakfasts and service were the best we had during this trip, even better than Four Seasons Dublin or St. Pancras London, at about half the cost. And wi-fi is free!

Helen and Brian were great hosts. Everything about our stay was fantastic. The room, the food and the atmosphere couldn't be beat. And they gave us some good advice for places to stop on our trip back to Dublin. Outstanding!

This is quite definitely the best B & B we have ever stayed at in Europe. It is run by a young couple who are absolutely charming. There is nothing one could criticise about the place and I would highly recommend it to anyone. The breakfast is delicious and "Brian's Favourite Omelette" is quite the most delicious omelette I have ever eaten. Can't wait to return!! Next door is a lovely restaurant, which is run by Brian's family - great food and very convenient for Castlewood residents.

Castlewood House is my idea of vacation Nirvana. Beautiful location. Lovely decor -- traditional yet modern and elegant. Comfortable rooms. Laid back vibe. Helen and Brian are the ultimate, helpful hosts. And the breakfast is so, so good that it redefines the second B in B&B. I wish I could find a Castlewood House here in the States!
