“Another great trip to Dingle”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed March 28, 2013

Probably the fourth time we have stayed with Maggie at the Emlagh Lodge and she never ceases to amaze us. Trip with two other friends, and as always she made us feel welcome the moment we walked in. Great trip and no doubt one of the best B&Bs to be found featuring one of the most terrific locations in Ireland. Thanks Maggie -- we will see you again someday! Gene, Jim, Jerry.

Our group of five occupied three rooms for one night in May 2012, and could not have been more pleased with this charming B&B looking out on Dingle. The rooms were lovely. Breakfast was delicious and hearty, and Maggie is a gracious hostess. I hope we have the opportunity to return in the future!

My husband and I spent two weeks in Ireland Sept 2012. In my opinion, Emlagh Lodge was the best B&B we stayed in. Where to begin...
1) Location: Beautiful! The lodge is tucked away along the waters edge with only a few houses surrounding it. My husband and I would walk into Dingle town (~10 to 15 minutes) using the path in front of the house by the water. I loved how quiet and tranquil this B&B was.
2) The host, Maggie: She is simply wonderful. Funny, warm and accommodating. She is a master in the kitchen.
3) The room: I swear we had the best room in the house. I forget the name of the room, but the bed room itself had two large windows and the bathroom had a rather large window. Everything was clean and comfortable. Not complaints. And the bathroom was HUGE and very clean.

If you are visiting Dingle and have a car, I would recommend taking a drive around the Dingle peninsula. It has some really amazing sea view, it's a real treat if you can drive it on a clear day.

Overall, I would recommend Emlagh Lodge to anyone who is staying in Dingle. I would stay here again in a heartbeat!

My wife and I spent our second anniversary night here on June 5, 2012. The location is simply breathtaking. The views surrounding you are amazing as you are right on the Dingle Bay. The house itself was immaculate, and our room was easily the largest of our trip. Shower was updated, clean and beautiful. You could easily tell the amount of pride that Maggie takes in her B&B. She even went out of her way to allow me use of her iron (which I could tell that she probably didn't want to let me use, but thanks!). The breakfast also was easily the best we had of all of our B&B stays, and the variety was much better than any other as well. The Slea Head loop is easily accessible from here and is easily the most beautiful place on the face of the earth. I wish we had stayed more than one night! We will most definitely be back to Dingle, and when we return, Maggie and Emlagh Lodge will be the first place I call! Can't tell you enough how great a stay this was.

Room Tip: We had a double sea view room, was at the end of the hall. If you are facing the front of the house...

Incredibly scenic location in charming Dingle. Easy and safe 5 minute walk along the waterfront into the village. Maggie is a fabulous and witty host and makes everyone feel very welcome into her home. The view is truly exceptional, the rooms comfortable and the breakfast fantastic. We have stayed twice and will absolutely be back on our next trip.

Room Tip: All rooms overlook the bay - there are no bad rooms.

We loved Dingle and our accommodations at Emlagh Lodge. You could not ask for a better place to stay, or better scenery. Maggie the owner, went above and beyond. Everything was so well kept and clean. Would love to come back here.

We found Emlagh Lodge on TripAdviser and found the excellent reviews to be accurate and well-deserved. Regarding location: Dingle is small, so although the Emlagh Lodge is tucked away on a cul-de-sac, it's a very easy and pretty walk along the Bay into town. In fact, we enjoyed being slightly detached, particularly given the relaxing vibe at the B&B and the views from the front lawn.

The B&B itself is very comfortable and very clean. We had a large dormer-style corner room with en suite, with one window overlooking the Bay and the other overlooking the driveway leading to the house. If you prefer the opposite corner, and hence Bay views on each side, I'm sure that can be requested. We opened the windows to enjoy the fresh Bay breeze and slept marvelously. Unless we were mistaken, there didn't appear to be alot of open common areas in the house (every room is well-furnished to host guests), and as such you'll probably end up relaxing in your room in the event you are at the house. That said, if you want common areas, Emlagh Lodge is affiliated with some self-catering optionst that afford that possibility.

As a host, Maggie was wonderful. She was short-handed at the time of our visit, and as such was quite obviously busy, but she still catered to our every breakfast request and made every effort to ensure that our stay was enjoyable. We lingered longer than usual at breakfast just to chat with her about Ireland, her love of Donegal, and the results of our explorations around Dingle and the Peninsula.

We would be happy to stay again with Maggie in the event we return to Dingle.
