Owner description: The brewery is based the old creamery building on Spa Rd.,Dingle. Opened in 1888 the creamery became the economic epicenter of the Dingle Peninsula and was a vital commercial center for the area, especially after 1916 and the following troubled years which had left the economy, especially agriculture, in a perilous state. The owners of Dingle Brewing Co., have been mindful of the place that this building has in the history of the area and have lovingly restored it, retaining its charm and character. By running the brewery and also offering tours to the general public and tourist market the Dingle Brewing Co. hope to restore the level of importance which this building had previously enjoyed and make it an essential part of the Dingle experience as well as providing employment for people in the town. As well as offering tours they will be producing ‘Tom Crean’s’ Premium Irish Lager’, the first pint of which will be poured, quite fittingly, in the South Pole Pub, Annascaul, Co. Kerry. The very pub, which the great man Tom Crean ran after retiring from his Antarctic expeditions. The lager will be available initially in selected osupplied as demand dictates. The Dingle Brewing Co. is aiming to rejuvenate the unique atmosphere of socialising in an Irish pub by producing a premium Irish lager which will appeal to both the public and the publican alike and provide a focal point for friends to get together, enjoying that unique atmosphere, each others company and a pint or a glass of ‘Crean’s’

While in Dingle I thought I'd check out the latest attraction in this wonderful town. It's situated in the old Creamery and while the installation is modest, the enthusiasm of the crew is obvious. There is nothing better than after a visit to a brewery to visit their bar and shoot the breeze with one of the brewers. I even became a shareholder! A curious incentive to become part of what promises to be a project with a future - look out for Crean's beer and if you can, sample it in 'The South Pole Inn' in Aunnascaul just outside Dingle.

The tour was self guided but gave a nice history about Tom Creams, the name sake of their beer, and you got to enjoy a pint afterwards. We might have had a few more pints while chatting with the locals and the employee behind the bar since they were closing up soon. Overall we really enjoyed our time there and would go back!

Neat, self-guided tour, and then you get a pint afterwards. Bartender is friendly, and folks come in just to order beer and strike up conversation. Check it out.

As a home brewer, it is always good to be made welcome by (commercial) Micro-brewers, and the staff at Dingle brewing were just great.
The brewery on the edge of town has a great feel and the tour of the brewery (self-guided) is interesting as is the museum largely dedicated to Tom Crean, a local legend who made his name in the Frozen Antarctic.
The beer too, named after Tom Crean, was more than pleasant. A refreshing creamy drop served cold and frothy.
A good place to visit and try their beer, which incidentally is being served in a number of pubs in Dingle Town.
