“Fascinating”
Reviewed October 19, 2012

The site is famous for its wonderfully carved cross slab bearing Classical, Celtic and Christian motifs. The stone walls are just amazing.

“Good Example of an Irish Village”
Reviewed August 12, 2012

This gave a great idea of what people lived like in Ireland long ago. The layout and community structure. It is a big pile of rocks but interesting to us.

“A wonderful chance encounter with a historic site”
Reviewed August 9, 2012

We came across this historic monastic community more of less by chance. We were really impressed and enjoyed wandering around the site and reading about it's historical significance. There is no cost and the site is really well maintained and appears to be quite quiet - one other couple arrived as we were leaving. We then went on to visit the Gallaras site. The 2 sites really complement each other and are both well worth a visit to add to the experience of a very spiritual Ireland.

Easy to find and worth sending time at. Very special vibe and easy to move around and free! Easy to see how it would have been when whole.
