“Wonderful B&B except for one thing”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed July 10, 2013

This is a lovely B&B in a good location, with wonderful people running it. The people were friendly and helpful, and the breakfasts were great, with homemade scones and free-range eggs. The bed was very comfortable and there is free wifi. But there is a big problem. There is a strong smell of mold when you enter the house, and the bedroom where we stayed smelled so bad that I could not get past it. The room itself was crowded with a double and twin bed, with no room for luggage, and the wardrobe was piled high with blankets and extra pillows with no room for hanging up clothes. The bathroom door would not open all the way because of one of the beds. This room would have been better used as a double, and then there would have been enough room for luggage. We had to put our suitcases on top of the dresser and in the window. The room is just too crowded to be used as a twin room. If the owners could get rid of the offensive moldy smell in the downstairs part of the house, it would be a very nice B&B with no complaints. The people were so nice that we did not want to offend them, but I could not get out of there fast enough because of mold and allergies.

Room Tip: Rooms on the upper floor did not smell as strong of mold as the ones on the ground floor.

My wife, three young daughters and I spent a week in the rental house beside the B&B and were delighted with our decision. Pat, Michael and family are very friendly, welcoming and accommodating. The kids loved the farm, young lambs at their doorstep and a lovely old sheepdog. Free Wifi throughout the house, very clean rooms and modern furnishings. Free in season spuds and lettuce from Michael!!. 5 minutes into Dingle village by car, about 15 minutes walk, so location excellent for the price. Can't recommend this place strongly enough. Booked into the B&B in September as I am taking part in the Marathon and would use the house again.

Incredible to be back in Dingle, Hazelbrook Farm still provides the true spirit of the West of Ireland with all the conveniences and charms. Pat and Mike run a beautiful B&B on their farm which has been in their family for four generations. Experience the true Irish Farm experience with a very short walk to the shops and pubs.

We stayed 2 nights at this wonderful B&B. Our room was very clean, the bathroom was quite new and the shower was awesome. And there's free wifi throughout the house!

Pat and Michael are very nice hosts who are happy to point out the sights of the area. On our first morning we woke up to the sound of sheep in front of our window, quite the Irish experience! Breakfast was great, Pat and Michael offer a nice variety to choose from. I loved the porridge and the scrambled eggs with smoked salmon.
The B&B is located just outside Dinge, about a 10-15 minute walk from town on a working farm, so there's lots to see. If I ever come back to Dingle, I'll definitely stay there again!

For me, travelling is about people, but it's often hard to meet the people of the country one is visiting. B&B's are a wonderful way of experiencing both the country and it's people. Pat, Michael and Shaun extended an easy hospitality to my family when we visited in mid September. The rooms were clean and warm, the beds were comfortable and the breakfasts, memorable. Hazelbrook is ideally situated to visit any site on the Dingle peninsula, yet it's far enough from downtown Dingle, that one feels the quiet of the countryside.

Our three days, two nights in Dingle were the highlight of our trip. Hazelbrook farm was exactly the sort of retreat we were looking for. We didn't have a car but didn't find the walk from Dingle to the B&B to be unreasonable. In fact, the countryside, the sheep and the quaint buildings made the 15 minute walk to and from town worth it and helped us feel more in touch with this beautiful country we were visiting.
The owners were very friendly and willing to chat when we asked questions about their farm. The breakfast choices vere quite good and satisfying. The wood throughout the B&B made for a welcoming and homey atmosphere. My only suggestion is to request a room on the upper floor.
My adult sister had to leave a day earlier than the rest of us so we asked the Visitor Centre to call a cab to take her to Hazelbrook (from Dingle) to pick up her things before coming back to town to catch the bus. All the cab happened to be out of town. Before we could panic, the Staff member told us she would just call Pat, the owner, to see if she was coming into town. Pat wasn't but she made a special trip in to pick up my sister and then returned to see her off at the bus. The kindness really showed what kind of people our hosts are.

The views out the window truly made the stay magical. Watching the farm sheep grazing right outside and seeing the dog do his farm work herding them made us feel like we had really travelled to another land.
The next time my family goes to Ireland, we will definitely be spending a week at Dingle at Hazelbrook farm. I can't wait to go back and I highly recommend it!

Room Tip: Request an upstairs room. One of our rooms was on the main floor and while it wasn't as noisy as...
