We stayed at the Dingle Skellig a year ago and then decided to return this year. The pro's: The views from this hotel, including the dining room are wonderful. Also, the location is great; it is not in the center of town, but close enough to walk. This makes for a quiet and peaceful stay. Also, they have renovated the dining room. Now the con's. This is a very family friendly hotel. For example, my wife and I went into the pub at the hotel for a couple of pints on two occasions and were met with crying babies. For us, we were hoping for a couple of beers and some conversation, but found the crying kids to be a bit distracting. For those with kids though, I imagine this ability to sit in a pub with your kids is probably a relief. Also, the rooms seemed a bit outdated/ worn. In sum, a good hotel, but maybe more of a place for families rather than couples.

We spent a night here in early July. What made the place work for us was the Fungi Kids Club and the Creche. It allowed us time to eat our dinner and have a few drinks. The pool was excellent but this is a palce to go if you have young children.

Just back from a 3 night stay at The Dingle Skellig Hotel and we loved every minute. We had two children with us and they totally enjoyed Fungi Kids Club and the swimming pool! Bar food menu offers plenty choice for everyone and breakfast was excellent. We're already planning a return visit for October midterm!
Thanks to all staff for making our mini holiday a great one!

The skellig is lucky it is located where it is. It's location is the only thing it has going for it.
Firstly it is ridiculously ovrrpriced. 5star prices 2star ammenities and service.
I have stayed in b&bs that were nicer and more impressive.
From the moment we got there there was huge delay in our check in. The staff were unhelpful.
The next morning we went down for breakfast in plenty of time. As we waited for about 10mins for somebody to seat us finally we were told that they weren't serving breakfast. We checked the time and there was over an hour left of serving time for breakfast. We could plainly see that some people were in the middle of breakfast and there were many empty tables they weren't laid out so it looked like they had half opened. we were told that perhaps we could get breakfast down in the town?!!
We had breakfast included in the price of our stay and couldn't believe what we were hearing.?I asked to speak to a manager at reception before we left and they seemed completely indifferent and dismissive - no explanation or apology.
On top of that, there was a dingy damp smell in the corridor the carpet looked about 20 years old and the place looked in need of refurbishment. Rooms were incredibly basic. For this priced you could stay in any of the fine accommodations in dingle be they hotels or guest houses.
After emailing them on our rerurn home, we received no reply.
This hotel gives the Irish hospitality industry a bad name.
Best avoid.

We stayed at this hotel for 3 nights and overall it is very good. The views from the dinning room are fantastic as is the food. however the rooms are a little dated and I was disappointed with Dingle town it is very small and very commercial. The scenery and the history of the area more than make up for any shortcomings however, all in all it was just right for a short break, but I would not want to stay for longer.

Room Tip: If you can book a suite the views are great
