We felt lucky to get seats on this excellent tour of Dingle just before it ended for the fall season. We had planned on driving ourselves around until other guests at our bed & breakfast told us they had booked the archeology tour raved about in various guidebooks. We quickly nabbed seats. This may have been the best 20 euro (each) investment we made during our trip to Ireland.
Retired Dingle police chief Tim Collins picked us up at our b&b and gave us nearly 3 hours of his time as he drove us around the incredibly scenic Slea Head Drive. We stopped and saw archeological sites up close. Tim gave us great insight into the views we were seeing, the people who live (and used to live) there and the films made in the area. The time flew by, and we learned so much. Plus, with the narrow, windy roads, we were happy to be passengers in Tim's comfy van with him at the wheel.
