The Last Cottage B & B
Ranked #64 of 75 Dingle B&B and Inns
Reviewed November 14, 2011

A comfortable and traditional Irish B&B located on Dingle Harbor with great views of the water and hillsides. The three rooms share one bathroom, which was spotless. A short two- to three-minute stroll takes you into the heart of Dingle town.

Breakfast was a good selection of menu items to choose from. We'd order the Cold Breakfast, with plenty left over to make a sandwich for a picnic lunch.

Margaret is charming, intelligent and, above all, fun to be around.

This was our second visit, and it was like coming home. We wouldn't stay anywhere else.

Hello Carol and Jim, Thank you so much for taking the time to review The Last Cottage - and no better people to do so after your second long stay. It was a real pleasure to see you both again and have time to chat with you during your 6 night stay. Hope to have the pleasure of seeing you again in the future. Best wishes, Margaret

My sister and I visited this charming little bed and breakfast on the Dingle Peninsula. It is small but well-maintained, and the breakfast was just delicious. It definitely kept us going for our 30-mile bike ride around the beautiful peninsula.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Last Cottage B & B in Dingle. It is very close to town and to the boat dock. Margaret is a wonderful hostess and made the best breakfast! We also enjoyed her sweet dogs and especially Dudley. We felt like we were visiting a friend instead of staying in another hotel room.

If you love a good breakfast, this is the place. Close to the harbor, to the town of Dingle (Dingle's teeny so anything in the town is in close proximity), and Margaret's "a peach"! Really enjoyed the B&B experience even though it didn't feel like "discovering Ireland." Make sure if you stay at the Last Cottage you spend time talking to Margaret. She's an interesting woman who is open with sharing her life and stories!

Stayed one night renting all 3 rooms. Rooms were very teeny tiny. Our room with double bed was only big enough for the bed. Could not fit our suitcases in. Bathroom very small. When someone showered our wall shook and vibrated. Place appears older and outdated. Hostess was very nice but this place was not what we expected.

I am very sorry that you did not find The Last Cottage was what you expected. The Rick Steve's Ireland does describe us very honestly as a 1930s council house with 3 old fashioned rooms and the web site through which you contacted me includes photos of all the rooms. I know you booked for two nights and only stayed for one. The reason given for leaving early was that it had taken over four hours to get to Dingle and you needed to be nearer to the airport early the next day. I had also given full instructions as to how to get to Dingle from Shannon and how to find The Last Cottage when in Dingle. Once again, I am very sorry that you did not find us to your satisfaction but I do not feel that the property is misrepresented in any way and that the price charged is in line with the facilities available. I hope you enjoyed your last three days in Ireland and the tour which preceded your visit to Dingle.

With a very gracious and friendly owner, fabulous location with a wonderful view of the ocean, and an excellent and huge breakfast, I could not imagine staying anywhere else in Dingle.

We had the tiniest room with a double bed but it was very comfortable and next to the bathroom which we only had to share during one of our three nights there. Margaret and Lorna, our hostesses were wonderful and extremely helpful. Breakfasts were outstanding particularly the Bailey's on our hot cereal!
