“They say it's the best”
Reviewed October 2, 2012

It fills me with disappointment to say that this cafe was not the "best in town". In fact, our waitress expressed multiple times over the course of our meal that Goat Street had the best food in town, the best breakfast in town. Why, we shouldn't bother eating anywhere else I suppose!

I had their tart of the day which was a bit bland and mushy. My family was also disappointed at the quality and taste of the food.

“Fresh & Tastey lunch”
Reviewed September 28, 2012

Very small cafe. But as you've probably heard before, all the good places are cramped & full. The food is fresh, tastey, and inventive. Well enjoyed. The atmosphere in this cafe is very welcoming, cozy, and warm. Soup was homemade and delicious. Fish of the day was fresh and well prepared. Highly recommend this place for a lovely lunch. The ladies were lovely busy little bees!!

“Awesome food, lukewarm service”
Reviewed September 27, 2012

The food was really good - I had the soup and my wife had a Bailey's and Chocolate Cheesecake. The service was quick and efficient, but very impersonal.

“Superb food and a pleasant atmosphere”
Reviewed September 7, 2012

This is a lovely cafe. It's only small but it's frequently full. You have a sense that you are being treated as a local. There's no excessive fuss to upset the tranquility here.

Breakfasts are excellent. I especially recommend the crepes. The wife of the owner-manager team is French, which is never a bad thing where food is concerned. The husband is a gentle Irishman (that will make his wife laugh) who likes to do a bit of surfing when things are quiet enough. They're both great for a chat actually. But let the food do the talking. Every meal I've had here has been excellent and the prices are cafe prices, not restaurant. Nicely unpretentious. Long may that last.

“Excellent in every way”
Reviewed September 1, 2012 via mobile

We spend every second in dingle and frequent the Goat Street Cafe on many occasions with our 2 Small children. The staff have a smile for us everytime, get baby chairs ready no matter how busy they are and to to it all off the food is excellent. Would have no problem recommending this restaurant.
