We spent 3 nights in a large, beautifully furnished, clean, quiet & comfortable room that my wife & I shared with our teenage daughter. Excellent service: (1) friendly telephone booking,(2) holding the kitchen open when we phoned ahead warning them of our late arrival (3) offering to provide us with a lift to drop us off at the start of one of the walks recommended in the comprehensive hotel information pack, (4) advice on where to eat, hear music etc. Dinner in the hotel was so good we were tempted back there twice (once with a live traditional music trio). Clever design with all ~18 rooms in the quiet rear of a west wing (away from the main road, and separated from the bar/kitchen/restaurant wing by the reception link. 5 minute, off road but well maintained walk to the town, which was alive with shops, restaurants and bars with traditional music in several every evening. Fantastic location, especially for the remote, quiet Beara peninsula - much more peaceful than the bustle of the Kerry Ring and the tourist furore of Killarney,

Just back from a wonderful weekend in this fantastic hotel. From the minute we walked into the hotel we were greeted by the friendly staff who showed us to our room. Our room was beautiful and so so clean. We had a taxi booked down to the town on the first night and as we were waiting outside for us a member of the staff offer to drop us drown to the town. I thought this was a wonderful touch and just goes to show you how excellent the hotel staff are. The breakfast was without the best breakfast I've had in my life (even better than New York breakfast, I know!!!) Our dinner on the second was also fab. After dinner we sat in the bar to have a drink and the was a lady singing on the piano and man playing the violin. They were great entertainment with a great mixture of music. I would highly recommend this hotel and look forward to going back soon....

Room Tip: Room 102 is just fab..

We stayed for the second time at Brook Lane very recently and I have to say it was excellent. I really do feel this hotel goes the extra mile. Everything from the service, the staff and the food are brilliant. We were shown to our room on arrival, which I thought was a lovely touch. The rooms are lovely, really well laid out & spacious. We had lunch there & breakfast the following morning. Both were delicious. The staff were always very friendly and helpful. We thoroughly enjoyed our stayed there and we will definitely be back again. Highly recommended.

Yes, this is out of the center of town, but the town is small and the hotel is literally a 4 min. walk (if that). There is a walking path just across the street into town that is really short (the locals use it to go home as well). The room was large and clean to our standards (we had a deluxe room facing the street). Great amenities and the public areas in the hotel are very comfortable -no narrow, uninteresting corridors. As for the attached restaurant, we found it a good value and tasty (with live music). Morning breakfast is also very delicious ordering a selection from the menu and from the buffet table. Also, there is no in room coffee, but there is complimentary coffee/tea service - much better (and tastier)! By the way, we found Kenmare's good non-pub food options to be rather expensive. Okay now for the bullet points:
Pros:
- Good location for car access to Ring of Kerry
- Good food/coffee (did I mention we liked the coffee?)
- Good value for the location. Really short walk to busy small town.
- Large room
- Good value for attached restaurant (even though its called a pub)
Cons:
- The road can be noisy if you're not used to it (or if you keep the window open at night)
- You will have to walk into town
- Not the best views out of the rooms- car park or across street. (if you really care about it)

Would we recommend to a friend? Yes

Room Tip: Rooms on the car park side are quieter.

What more can you ask for, but a lovely hotel with a location that is a short stroll down a footpath to Kenmare, a staff that was always cheerful and accommodating, comfy beds and wonderful hot, powerful showers, good food and a well appointed bar just right for a night cap......the hotel is a walk away from many interesting sights, and after a slightly wet day a request for hot tea was at my door, I swear in less then five min., accompanied by a warm cookie.....heaven....you won't be disappointed....

We reached Kenmare in a downpour and were very pleased to arrive at a comfortable, friendly hotel just outside the town centre. Very helpful staff. We ordered dinner in the restaurant and were really pleased we did - excellent food. Very comfortable, spacious rooms. Lovely breakfast. We recommend this hotel without hesitation.
