We wanted to go to Killarney, but because there was a big bikersparty overthere we looked for something else end found this wonderful B&B in Kenmare. We didn't regret our choice for 1 second. Kenmare is a lovely small town and this is a wonderfull guesthouse. I think we had the biggest (and that was really big) bed and bathroom of our 19 days in Ireland. The room is really clean and you will get a great breakfast. Don't expect a nice long chat with the owner. But she does give very good recommandations for things to do. Thanks to her we went walking in Glenveagh national park, what was really great. Kenmare is central to visit the Beara peninsula and the Ring of Kerry etc. Without the crowds of Killarney. I really recommend Kenmare and this B&B.

Rockcrest was our base for three nights while in the Kenmare area. Our room (4) was by far the best room we had while in Ireland. it is considered the honeymoon sweet and had a great window view. The room was large and comfortable. The bathroom was great. it even had a tub if you wanted a bath. you had two choices for breakfast - Irish breakfast or fruit/yogurt. We had both while there. both are of enormous proportion. The fruit plate was especially large - there is no way i could finish 2-3 pieces of plus cut up fruit and yogurt. this b and b is within easy walking distance to town and also right on the ring of kerry drive. Great location overall. Additionally Our host was especially nice to us helping us get to where we needed to be . we were having a marriage blessing and photos taken. unfortunately it rained that day and the hostess helped lay my dress by the heater to dry out. she even brought us a vase for me to put my boquet in so the flowers wouldn't die. i highly recommend this place as somewhere to stay to anyone traveling in the area.

Recently returned from a weeks touring of Ireland. One of our stays was at the Rockcrest B & B in Kenmare. Didn't book before arriving but the hosts David & Marion were both very friendly and we had a beautiful room on the first floor. Breakfast was excellent and the location to Kenmare was perfect - just a short stroll to the village with lots of choices for eating, drinking and plenty of traditional Irish music. One bar we liked was Crawleys it was like stepping back 50 years, very basic but good beer.

Staying at Rockcrest house, we found it quiet with lovely gardens. It was rainy so we did not get out in the evening, but the BnB is very convenient to the center of Kenmare, but in a quiet location.
We were the last to arrive that evening and were greeted by David and Marian with help with our bags. There is a very nice sitting room with reading material. Internet is available as well.
Breakfast was delicious with several selections available for fruit, cereal, breads which is what we choose.
I would stay here again and wish we could have stayed more than one night.

On our recent trip to Ireland we had no accommodation booked in Kenmare, so on arrival we dropped into Rockcrest House to see if there was a room available. The hostess Marian explained they were full but offered to show us a room in another property they own right behind Rockcrest. (literally back to back) Normally this is a two storey, newer, self catering holiday home but they were using it for overflow guests! We were on the main floor in a decent sized room with a huge bathroom. Two big windows in the bedroom and two big windows in the bathroom made it feel extra spacious and light. We felt like we were the only ones in this big beautiful house. Apparently there were other guests upstairs but we never saw or heard them. We had access to the whole main floor which included a half bath, huge equipped kitchen and dining area, conservatory with lots of tourist books, living room with fireplace and TV. It was gorgeous. The house was full of thank you cards from other guests stays and I can see why. We had parking right outside in the driveway. It was only a short walk to town, the stone circle and Cromwell's bridge or down the country lane for a bit of an escape as the house is near the edge of town. Breakfast was in the main Rockcrest house and was wonderful. Marian's bread...delicious! We decided to stay two nights here. We felt spoiled. We didn't get to know the hostess much because we were in the other house but Marian was available when we needed and gave us good advice on her favourite spot...the Beara Peninsula. We would go back in an instant.

We spent one night at the Rockcrest B&B and we found it lovely, clean and comfortable. The triple room was really big and had amazing view, overlooking the countryside and town! There was no problem with booking and money value was good as well. I think the only problems were that the breakfast room was too small for the number of rooms they let out. Also during the evening you can here noises from the hall and other rooms. Irish Breakfast - same as everywhere. No option to help yourself with the muesli/corn flakes and milk/yogurt.

Everything else - perfect! :)

Room Tip: Triple Room from the street side - BEST VIEW!

Myself and my wife stayed here whilst touring Ireland. The location is great if you want to go into town (literally a pleasant 5 minute walk). House itself is beautiful and has a lovely high aspect, overlooking the countryside and town. Plenty of parking space also. Our room was large, clean and comfortable. The only negative was that the hosts insisted we have breakfast at either 8 or 9am. We wanted it at 8.30 to suit our tour itinerary but were told there were just the 2 sittings! I think the problem is that the breakfast room is too small for the number of rooms they let out. Consequently they have a logistical problem if everyone comes into breakfast together. However, even understanding that, I don't think it is fair for the customer to suffer.
