Our first visit was soon after it reopened, the front of house staff were non existent ,eventually we we managed to get one of the staff to talk to us and were given a table while being told that the kitchen was very busy and it must have been because it was 45 mins before we got our food. The food was fine lots of Spanish influence ,very extensive menu when you include the tapas.
For our second visit we had not booked and again we stood for a long time trying to get some attention , eventually my wife managed to ask a staff member (who seemed to be senior) if there were any free tables ,the response was ' NO' ;nothing else just 'NO'; this was a first for us ,even 'Sorry we are booked out ' would have been okay.Boy does this place need serious service management training and supervision.

On a recent weekend break to Kenmare, we were fortunate enough to visit this establishment.
From start to finish this was a fabulous experience, the staff were professional and friendly, the premises were clean and had a relaxed athmosphere but the best part was the meal and can be summed up in one word:FABULOUS.Very Spanish type of influence, prices were reasonable for what was on offer and we can't wait to visit here again. Tip: try the house speciality- a selection of fish. If you are ever in this neck of the woods you owe yourself this treat.

The best feature of the Boathouse is the location. Right on the lake expectations are set high. We were part of a large party recently booked for dinner. Some of our party were a bit delayed and despite not being busy this seemed to be a set back to the waitress.Although she did improve as the night went on. We were handed a wine menu yet had to ask how they managed the tapas. We weren't asked if we wanted any drinks while we chose food. The tapas option is good. Overall the food was well prepared and just seemed to keep coming. The table got a bit busy yet more dishes were just placed anywhere whilst the staff didn't make any attempt to clear empty plates. That we had to do ourselves. Over all the food was good though with a nice variety. The location is fantastic and worth visiting.

Hadn't known it existed until stumbling across it by chance touring Kerry but what a gem.
4 of us rrived late afternoon and took the spanish option. The Tapas were excellent, far more choices than we've ever had in Spain with some we'd never see before and to eat by the water's edge on a sunny evening was divine.
Good wine list.
I understand it was booked out for the evening and am not surprised.
It would just need a tray of crispy bread and a bowl of olives to put finishing touch things.

Waterfront setting is striking. The menu is Spanish and the tapas selection is worth exploring. We found that seven dishes were enough for two. Fish particularly good but the bowl of tender chorizo was a knockout. With soup and two glasses of wine the bill was just over 50 euros. The staff are young and friendly. The Muzak is annoying. The company on our night included a family group with a baby to add to the Spanish theme.
