“Best French pastries and value for money”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed August 21, 2010

The Rosegarden B&B, located on the Sneem road, just outside Kenmare is a real gem. Apart from the Bed and Breakfast offering there is a cafe which serves some of the best French pastries - all home baked - what a treat. Coffee and croissant for just €2.50 - great quality and incredible value for money.
We enjoyed the setting, in it's own gardens, with lots of parking. The service was very friendly and the coffee and pastries delicious. As there is outside seating we were able to have out dogs with us. We will go back to try the "all day breakfast" on offer for just €6.00. Kenmare is a very special place to visit and The Rosegarden adds to the experience.

My group didn't actually stay at Rosegarden over night, unfortunately. We stayed at a B&B down the street but wandered on Rosegarden walking home. The sign said "desserts and breakfast served anytime) and we were drawn in. The hosts (which includes a French pastry chef) were inviting and wonderful. They told us stories about their lives and when they lived in Los Angeles, Orlando, England, etc. They were so sweet and they were the best desserts I have ever eaten. If you are in Kenmare, be sure to stay at this B&B, you won't be disappointed.

Our rather large group of 2 adults and 4 teenagers stayed at the Rosegarden Guest House for our one night in Kenmare. We had a lovely time there. It is a little outside Kenmare but so quiet and lovely after the hustle and noise of Cork. The rooms were comfy and very clean. The owner/operators were so kind and there food was wonderful. We only had a short walk down a path to the main part of town. We definately would stay there again.

the owners were exceptionally friendly and helpful. The room was very nice and comfortable. Homemade French pastry is delicious and the breakfast was excellent. Spectacular big garden with parking. We satayed in a number of places on our tour of Ireland and this was one of the best value and most pleasant stay.

A nice modern B & B with comfortable rooms at a very reasonable price. Breakfast was excellent and we were very pleased with the service.

We stayed at the Rose Garden Guest House in June 2006 on a Monday night. We were the only guests on that night which means that it was pretty quiet (which was nice). The guest house is a short walk to "downtown" Kenmare. We liked that since it meant that it was in a quiet location but still convenient (although be sure to ask for a room facing the back of the hotel if you are sensitive to noise since there's a semi noisy road out front). The inside of the guest house was pretty ordinary, but it certainly does the trick if you're looking for a decent place to spend the night and are on a budget. This certainly isn't a good choice for anyone looking for lots of comforts or charm since you won't find those things here. Our breakfast was fine as well - fairly comparable to the other B&Bs we stayed in in Ireland. We might stay at this place if we go again, or we might be tempted to "upgrade" to a slightly nicer guest house.

We stayed here for 1 night and found that everything was average - it was a little odd that in the bathroom there was a sign up asking you to take short showers! For breakfast we requested one fruit and yoghurt meal rather than an Irish Breakfast - the fruit and yoghurt were miniscule and the yoghurt warm. We asked for more soda bread to compensate and were told that there may be a small bit we could have - we feel we were involved in a cost saving exercise - we would not describe the rose garden as warm with a friendly welcome! However, we were in walking distance of the town of Kenmare and had a lovely evening meal in the Lansdowne Hotel at the top of town - the food here was great and well worth sampling. Don't be put off by thinking it's expensive as its part of a hotel, the food we had was in the bar area which is separate to the rather plush looking hotel.
