but it wasn't hard to find. There are, IMHO, many other stone circles that are more spectacular--this one was very modest, with short round stones (as compared to tall, upright stones). The grounds were well kept, but I don't know if it was worth the 2 euro entry.

Largest stone circle in Ireland - walking distance from town. Kept up nicely -donation box at entrance. When in Kenmare, take time to see

“Interesting to stand in the middle of history”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed June 8, 2014

Enjoyed the brief walk to the circle (loved the surrounding neighborhood) and seeing the largest stone circle, in such "obvious" condition was a treat. Wish we could know more about the real use of the circle so long ago. Brought us some wonderful conversation.

“Hidden treasure”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed June 3, 2014

This is right across the river from the Rockcrest B&B who directed us there. There is a sign at the end of town directing you to the small street and trail. It's the largest stone circle in this part of Ireland. We found it very similar to a native American medicine wheel.
