The centre is very interesting. Kenmare is a terrific place, quirky, lovely places to eat, interesting little boutique style shops...now it is a bit touristy, so be warned, it is a tourist town. You don't have to buy an Oirish cap made with tweed patches, or a t-shirt with Guinness on it. If you do, then it's your fault that you look a prat

We came here after hearing all about the lace amking in Kenmare and the festival theat is soon to be. However we found the hostess to be a little pushy and we felt under pressure to buy lace rather than to look. She also suggested we take a bus tour around the ring of Kerry by a relation of hers but after we booked it, it was canceled later because there was not enough numbers going.

Wonderful little museum. Watch lace made in the traditional way and buy some of the handmade product from local artists.

A very well set out and spacious centre with plenty of information at hand, helpful staff and a very interesting display on Kenmare and the stone circles.

We based our trip from Killarney to Kenmare on this attraction and checked the hours. We made it there before the scheduled closing and we made it there before the little personal note on the door said it was closing, but it was already closed. We had been excited to see this place--and it was our only example of lace making that we included on this trip to Ireland. We were very disappointed to not be able to view this attraction and by default not see any examples of Irish lace.
