We arrived on Saturday afternoon and the room was ready. The hotel is a short walk from the town of kenmare. We visited many many shops. We had lunch at Jam restuarant and evening meals at another neighbouring establishment. They both turned out to be fantastic.

Just returned from a 2 night midweek break in Kenmare where we stayed at this hotel. The 1st room we were allocated had interconnecting doors hwich my wife disliked & we asked to change which was done immediately and with a minimum of fuss. 2nd room was fine with a good sized en suite. We found the staff very friendly and informative esp. Adam ( I think) the night porter. There's also very good leisure facilities, pool, gym etc, although we didn't use them this time. We'd certainly recommend this hotel.

Good hotel , staff attentive and any complaints dealt with promptly. Close to town and excellent value. Heard very good reports about the lodges also if there are more than two of you. Nice pool and big leisure centre.

Honestly this is not the hotel it pretends to be. There is very little parking and we were here on a night it rained which meant a walk in the rain. The facilities that it provides are not suitable for the amount of rooms it has. We stayed two nites and had to walk very far in the rain to get to our room. I would definitely say the staff are very good and knowable. My partner works in a three star hotel and the roooms are fairly similar, with more in the three star. We found Kenmare in general to be a total rip off. We live in Ireland and found we walked around every hotel and pub and take away and still couldn't find a decently priced pub, restaurant, or take away, and I work in a chinese take away so know the prices. The take away's were far better than the restaurant's on price. It put a downer on our holiday and we felt we should have stayed in Kilarney for both food and accomadation as it was central but not that close to the town that they can afford to ask what they do for a meal..

We spent a week here and had a 2 bed lodge. It was outstanding. It had absolutely everything one needed from stairgates and highchair to a coffee maker. The decor was luxurious. There was enough tea/coffee, washing powder etc to last the week.

The leisure centre was great - the kiddie pool esp. Plenty of water toys provided.

The only downside was the hotel bar which is astonishingly small for such a large complex. We felt bad taking our money out of the hotel every night but it just wasn't suitable for us. We like a large roomy bar with a better menu choice. The hotel staff were extremely pleasant and helpful.

However, the walk into town was short and we would go back for sure.

I wasn't sure what to expect from the Kenmare Bay Hotel having read the mixed reviews. We booked it first and foremost due to the very competitive price we found for 1 nite b&b. We were, however, entirely happy with all aspects of this modern and beautifully furbished hotel, from its proximity to the town, to the pleasant and very obliging staff. The rooms too are surprisingly plush and very comfortable with spacious, pristine and attractively designed bathrooms. Overall we were pleasantly surprised at the little slice of luxury we received at such a reasonable price.

We stayed at the Kenmare Bay for one night last week. We regularly stay with friends in Kemare but as there was a large family gathering, we booked ourselves into the Kenmare Bay. We had never stayed there before, but had often been in the bar for a drink. This part of the hotel, and the reception area is really lovely, which is why we probably expected something a bit better than what we got. As it was last minute when we decided to book, we went online and it quoted us for a triple room without breakfast. I rang the hotel directly to see how much a triple room with breakfast for 3 would be, and I was quoted an extortionate price, so we decided to book the room-only online. The room was across the carpark from the reception. It was quite small for a triple room, not much room for 3 people to move about. The decor was pretty mundane, but apart from that, the room had that grubby feel, it was well overdue a facelift. The kettle was filthy on the inside. We returned to the hotel around 10pm and were hoping to get some sandwiches from room service. Alas there was no such service, and we had to resort to a bag of crisps from the vending machine in the corridor. My son did use the pool the following morning and said it was fine, but nothing special. Thankfully the following night we had booked into another hotel in Kemare and we were really pleased with it. There are such a range of places to stay Kenmare, that I would not stay here again. We were so disappointed with it.
