“Very nice place to stay while visiting Kenmare.”
Reviewed October 18, 2010

We stayed one evening at O'Donnabhain's. The rooms are located above a very fine pub that was surprisingly large and spacious. They have a nice beer garden in the back. The rooms themselves were also large, comfortable, modern and very clean. The bathroom had a hair dryer and the shower was very nice with good water pressure. The rooms were quiet and the bed was comfortable. We really couldn't have asked for anything more. I was very happy with my choice. The next morning, breakfast was served with a smile down the hall from our room and it was very tasty.
We ate at the pub for dinner and had a nice meal. My husband had the mussels and I had lamb chops. Everything was fresh and well cooked.
Now here is my one negative thing to mention. We decided to pay for dinner by using our credit card and it was a mistake. The pub did us the favor (which is to say, no favor at all) of charging us in US dollars. The conversion rate was a tenth of a percent higher and a conversion fee of 3.5% was added to our bill. This is what you agree to when you sign your credit card slip. I didn't realize it until we left. Silly me. I suggest paying cash or specifically asking to pay in Euros when you hand over your credit card.

Wow - this place has it all!!!! Perfect location, comfortable rooms, awesome owners and staff, and great food. We stayed in many hotels and inns during our 10 night Ireland trip...and this was by far the best place to stay. It was a pleasure to explore the Ring of Kerry from here and everyone was full of good suggestions on how to make the most of our time. We will definately return here again!!!!!!

We were very pleasantly surprised when we arrived at O'Donnabhain's! The rooms were large, clean and nicely appointed. The bath was also very nice. We ate dinner downstairs at the restaurant and hung out at the bar later - the food was good and the wait staff was very friendly and helpful. The next morning the breakfast was really good and again the staff was attentive and helpful. I would DEFINITELY recommend this place - right in the center of town - walk to everything!!

We stayed for three nights at the O'Donnabhain's guesthouse and wish we'd booked for a longer stay. The rooms are a good size and located away from the bar so noise at night was not an issue. The food was fresh and so good that we ended up eating more meals in the pub than planned. The staff were friendly and very attentive and nothing was too much trouble. There is a warm atmosphere in the pub and although it was very busy with diners throughout our stay, Jer made sure we always got a table and were looked after. The guesthouse is set in the heart of the town and the fact that there was parking availble was a huge plus as Kenmare is very busy in the summer and parking spaces difficult to find.
This was our first trip to Ireland and we are very pleased that we chose O'Donnabhains.

Spent 2 nights at O'Donnabhain's. Room (#10) was spacious and very clean. Excellent Irish breakfast but most of all, the gastro pub served us a delightful dinner. The guest house is centrally located and makes accessing Kenmare very easy. We were fortunate to be there for the Wednesday morning market which was filled with with a wide assortment of vendors - a must see before venturing out especially if you want to pick up food and drink for a pcinic.

We spent 3 nites at the guesthouse and were very pleased. The owners work very hard to make sure all of the guests have everything they need. The breakfast menu was good and breakfast was a time to have a chat and get good advice. The Pub/Restaurant was friendly with very good food. Large modern rooms in the center of Kenmare, a great town.
