“Home from home.”

Millfield cottage is warm and welcoming, well equipped with all your holiday needs (and more) The pretty location of Kenmare is ideal with a variety of shops, pubs and restaurants just a short stroll from the cottage. It is also a good central location for touring the beautiful South West of Ireland.

“Fabulous area, fabulous accommodation”
Reviewed September 5, 2011 for a stay in August 2011

Kenmare is an ideal base for exploring Kerry and West Cork, with a very good range of shops and restaurants. Nice to be able to stroll down to the harbour after dinner. Millfield House offers excellent accommodation - spotlessly clean, well appointed and comfortable, and with plenty of space for two couples (in our case) or for a family of 5. Particularly liked the very large, well equiped kitchen/dining area where we could sit and chat with a drink while preparing meals (when we weren't eating out!). Also really liked having showers in both bathroom and en-suite.

“Beautifully presented and a joy to come 'home' to after a good day's touring.”
Reviewed August 12, 2011 for a stay in April 2011

Neat. tidy and clean, with modern appliances and contemporary furnishings. The owner is warm, hospitable and very keen to ensure your stay is pleasurable. The house is a brisk ten minutes walk from the centre of Kenmare, a most pleasant village, with no shortage of shops, grocery stores, restaurants and coffee spots. One notable absence in the village was that of WiFi facilities (nearby Lady's View, on the 'Ring', provides ready access and a decent drop of Guiness).

Beware: Google maps and GPS navigation systems may direct you over Priest's Leap if approaching Kenmare from the south. The Priest's Leap road, although sealed, is a tortuous single lane track on the approach and descent from the summit, not suitable for the less adventurous or those faint of heart. Stick to the N71 if in doubt.

“Perfect Holiday Home on the ring of Kerry”
Reviewed July 2, 2011 for a stay in June 2011

it's not just the location and contents of this house which makes it perfect, it's the welcome you will receive from the owner Gail. After a long drive from Dublin we were met by Gail at the property who personally showed us around, had filled the fridge with essentials such as eggs & milk, chocolate cake, bottle of wine & chocolates and recommended all the local attractions.

The property itself is immaculate and very comfortable. There is a short walk into town (you cross a bridge where we saw an otter one evening) which has lots of great shops and pubs/restaurants.

Would recommend the following trips from the property:- Ring of Kerry, Gap of Dunloe, Beara Penisula and our favourite a trip to Dingle to see Fungei the dolphin.

All in all highly recommended, you will not be disappointed
