Conveniently located, literally within strolling distance of Kenmare, quietly and somewhat majestically situated within sight and sound of a babbling brook, the stone-fronted Limestone Lodge comes highly recommended! It's a veritable home away from home for any prospective lodger, most particularly in the authentically charming, hospitable and caring hands of Maria. Rooms are spotlessly clean, cosy and comfortable, breakfast is second to none and the overall atmosphere is serene! Sad to leave, happy to return - we will be back!

Limestone Lodge is a beautiful stone building just north of the stream that runs through the town and its two footbridges. The rooms are large, airy, clean and pretty, the breakfasts excellent, and Maria is as sweet, charming and helpful a host as you will find anywhere. Maria's mother-in-law, Siobhan was kind enough to show some of her lace work to us, and my wife, who weaves, got into a lively discussion of lacemaking, which Siobhan knows a lot about, with her. The price of a stay is very reasonable, and the house is close to the centre of town, to Cromwell's beautiful footbridge and the ancient stone circle. A treat!

I can only rave about my stay here. It's a lovely house in a quiet location only 5 minutes walk from town. The room was clean & spacious. I was doing the Ring of Kerry cycle in the morning & leaving at 6am but Maria insisted on being up & sorting breakfast which was above & beyond the call of duty. If only all B&B's in Ireland were this good!

I cannot think of enough good things to say about Maria Thomas and her mother-in-law, Siobhan. We were looked after as though we were family. The bed was comfy and the full Irish breakfasts were so delicious and customized to our liking. The location was perfect (within walking distance to everything in town). If I ever have the opportunity to be in Ireland again, I'll plan to stay at Limestone Lodge.

We found this place by using the Rick Steves' Ireland guide, and had a quiet, comfortable stay. Upon arrival, the lovely, helpful daughter-in-law of the owner gave us a map of town, and recommendations of where to eat. You can do the walking loop in an hour. We were touring around the Ring of Kerry clockwise, and this was a great launching place for that. Places worth seeing are the Shrine to the Virgin Mary, located next door, and the historic ring of stones at the edge of town. The house's location is an easy walk from town, and we liked how quiet it was. The triple room at the front has a nice view!

Room Tip: Rooms at front have a view of town and hills - rooms at back have view of the back yard.

My partner and I spent a night at the Limestone Lodge. We didn't make a reservation but were more than welcome.
The room and bathroom were nice and clean. The downside was the shower which was a bit chilly. The breakfast was really nice with fruit, yoghurt, toast and a choice of porridge and Irish breakfast.
I can highly recommend this nice B&B just a minute walk out the touristy centre of town.

My husband, son, and I stayed at Limestone Lodge in a triple room. The room was plenty big and the beds were comfortable. We did have some trouble getting the room warm enough (it was in January). The breakfast was excellent, and Maria was very accommodating. The lodge is easily walkable to town, yet it's far anough away from all the hustle and bustle.
