Our tour stopped for lunch in Kenmare where we were on our own to find a place to eat. I was hoping to find something other than a pub, and this cute little shop caught my eye. We sat at the one table that was on the take out side, right in the window. So, while we were feasting on tasty veggie tarts, we could feast our eyes on the fine cheese selection, baked goods and prepared luncheon fare. It was also nice to see and hear all the local people come in and talk to the lady behind the counter as they placed their orders. So, if you want some delicious lunch and a feel for the local environment, add Truffle Pig to your itinerary.

One of our best finds during our week stay in Kenmare. Very friendly and helpful staff. If you like hot, fresh coffee, this is the ideal spot. Food served in a timely manner with cold items cold, hot items hot. Spinach and cheese tart, served with greens and a wonderful shredded pickled carrot salad with sliced tomato and cucumbers. The mushroom soup was loaded with mushrooms. Had to get a take away of the coffee cake with carmel, walnut frosting. Yum! Great place to people watch as people pass on Henry St.

We spent a week in Kenmare and we also spent one hour of every day in the Truffle Pig . It is a must if you love to saver and taste quality home baked food. The coffee is heavenly and the apple tart more so. We will be back.

You have to try the broccoli and chicken pie, delIsh!! The best lemon tart we've ever had. So much so that we went there 2 days in a row for lunch!
