Owner description: Molly Gallivan’s cottage and traditional farm invites you to take a step back in time to experience the simple country lifestyle in rural Ireland before the days of electricity and modern conveniences. Molly’s enchanting cottage is over 200 years old and her farm is complete with animals, fowl and traditional farm machinery. Molly’s old Tea Shop is very unique in Ireland, here you will taste locally made foods cooked and baked in the traditional fashion. We also hold traditional Irish evenings at Molly Gallivan’s cottage, these are nights of Irish food, music, song, dance and story telling, re-enacting the old customs that took place in Irish homes. Advanced booking is required for our Traditional Irish Evenings please contact us for availability and prices.

We were on your way from Dingle towards the Cliffs of Moher and then Galway when we saw Molly Gallivan's on the left. It looked lovely from the outside and my mom stopped right away to have a look. We weren't so interested at the beginning as we had a long day of driving ahead of us and were eager to get to the Cliffs.
As soon as we entered the cottage a lovely smell of freshly baked bread & and the coziness made us feel very relaxed and we ended up staying there for quite a while. The owner Steve was very friendly and made us feel welcome right away. It was really nice chatting to him and learning about this place and its history. I also took a stroll through the farmyard which was really nice! They had donkey's, sheep, chicken and even a pig so young children would definitely love it.
Steve also sells all sorts of souvenirs and there is a lovely café as well. We ended up having a cup of tea with biscuits and bought a really nice sheepskin rug whose smell still reminds us of the lovely time we and in Ireland and at Molly Gallivan's. So definitely worth a stop!

My wife & I were just leaving from a wonderful stay @ 2 Mile Lodge in Kenmare. As we were rounding the bend, we saw Molly Gallivan's on the right. The first thing that struck our interest was the warm appearance of the cute Irish cabin. The surroundingbviews here are amazing! Inside the shop there is a wide variety and great selection of items. We were greeted by Steve who gave us excellent service and a history of the shop. We highly recommend stopping in!

We stopped at Molly Gallivan's after being in Skibbereen and learning about the famine. It was fascinating to see another side of every day life, and Steve was a great host, showing us everything from peat digging to old stone construction to making moonshine. The owners are hospitable and we were lucky to have a sunny day.
