On a recent staycation we booked in here for a week end. What a warm welcome we got from Therese, tea and bikies on arrival which was much appreciated after a long drive. The rooms were a generous size and spotlessly clean too with lovely flat screen TVs. The pancakes and homemade scones were delicious and my other half loved his hearty fry up. Great value for money, will be back for sure! Thanks Therese!

The four of us in our group agree...this was our favorite! It was so comfortable and welcoming, like visiting with your favorite Aunt (or cousin, or grandparent, depending on your age.). We arrived to the wonderful smell of fresh baking, and it was apple tarts with fresh cream! Therese gave us the warmest welcome ever, showed us to our rooms and invited us out to the extremely cozy and comfy living room to enjoy the tarts and tea...the best tea I have ever had in my 40+ years! She gave us great information about the town, and even offered to drive us in to town and pick us back up, as it was just a bit too far to walk. We took her up on the offer for a ride to town, but we took a cab back rather than risking waking her for a pick up...the cab fare was very affordable. The rooms were clean and comfortable, and the location is nice and quiet. Breakfast the next morning was WONDERFUL, with hot choices including a full Irish breakfast, all served with, cereal, bread, fruit, awesome fresh baked scones and that perfect pot of tea! All accompanied by impeccable service and nice conversation with Therese. After breakfast and some additional travel tips from Therese, we were on our way...reluctantly. We all said we wished we had booked two nights here...just a comfortable, welcoming delightful stay! You cannot go wrong choosing to stay with Therese!

We stayed in o Shea s bed & breakfast in Aug during a short break in the Kenmare area. Our hosts were very welcoming and gave us lots of tips on things to do in the area. Our bedroom was spotlessly clean and breakfast the next morning was fab with a huge full Irish breakfast.

On arrival our hostess Therese invited us for tea & some very tasty bairn breac in the lounge, which was most welcome after the long journey. The O' Sheas made my family feel very much at home & were most helpful. The rooms were spacious & clean with comfortable beds - a welcome place to lay your head after painting the town of Kenmare red ! Breakfasts were a real treat with homemade scones, crepes & the infamous Irish breakfast. Overall, the Ceol Na Habhann B&B comes highly recommended.

Theresa gave us a very warm welcome. The rooms were clean, big enough and very comfy. They contain everything you need, fresh towels, tea/ coffee, TV, even a bed heater (room nr. 5) :-)
For breakfast you can choose between lots of different things and it was delicious and quite a lot!
The B&B is very well situated even if it´s next to the main road. It´s close to the National Park, the Ring of Kerry but also the Ring of Beara.

Not everyone has the patience and tirelessness to run a B&B. I'd probably last about 15 minutes. Therese, the fine proprietor of O'Shea's Farmhouse, was seemingly born with a gift for making people feel welcomed and taken care of in a genuine, unfussy way. "Not a bother" and "no problem" pass her lips a thousand times a day, and she really seems to mean what she says -- even when she's just taken it upon herself to wash, dry and clean about 8 pair of your family's rain- and mud-soaked shoes and boots.

We spent four nights at O'Shea's and had a great time exploring the Kenmare/Killarney area, even with some pretty relentless rain. An added bonus for our kids was the opportunity to head up the hill to the family's 50-head dairy farm to help with the milking. (Therese's husband, John, tends to the cows).

The rooms are clean, bright and pleasant -- not huge or luxurious, but just what you'd expect and hope for from a reasonably priced B&B. They have five guest rooms, I think, and most were occupied while we were there. I expected there to be some noise as other guests closed and opened doors, walked down hallways and so forth, but it was remarkably quiet during our stay. Guests have access to a cozy living room/sitting area and take breakfast in a separate dining area. We enjoyed meeting the other guests during breakfast. The morning meal choices included the "full Irish" (eggs, ham, sausage, black pudding..), delicious, house-made scones, Irish bread, and crepes. Therese's more than generous portions often kept us going pretty much until dinnertime.

The house itself is well built and pleasant, but not what you'd call charming or atmospheric -- it is a normal family house, expanded to serve as a B&B.

It is worth noting that O'Shea's is a healthy walk from Kenmare, about 1.5 miles, along a busy road. Driving to town is easy, though, and there was always parking to be found.

A big "thank you" to Therese for all her hard work in making our family feel so welcome.
