My husband and I stayed here at this wonderful B&B. Sheila and Sam were such gracious hosts. They are the type of people you would welcome into your own home! We wanted to do some hiking in the National Park and Sheila provided us with maps of the various trail options. The bedrooms were very large and clean. Our room had some great views overlooking green fields. The breakfast served was delicious. Keep a lookout towards the fields as you might be lucky enough to see the red fox!

Had a lovely visit at Forgefield House with Sheila and Sam. They do a fabulous breakfast and give great advice on things to see and travel routes. The rooms were spotless and we enjoyed sitting on the deck in the sunshine. We had a bit of a challenge finding it as the streets are not always marked in Ireland. We look forward to visiting again!

I've stayed in B&B all over the world and this one has got to be the best. Sheila and Sam are so gracious and easy going . The rooms are HUGH as well as the Bathrooms. We also had a King size bed. Beautiful and pristine with a back deck to enjoy the end of the day with a lovely view. Very close to town, just a few minutes drive. We also took a walk down their street over a quaint stone bridge and up the hill for a nice view. Big fresh breakfast with much to chose from. Can't say enough about Forgefield House and our hosts. When I think about Ireland I think about how gracious the locals are. Thanks Sheila & Sam AAA++++

Room Tip: We stayed in the downstairs room, but I got a tour of the house and all the rooms are beautiful.

My Grandfather and I recently had a wonderful stay at this lovely property on our Irish Holiday. Sam and Sheila were exceptional hosts and made us very welcome in their home. Our room was very clean and spacious, and the beds were comfortable. The bathroom was exceptional and my grandfather and I both agreed was the nicest of all the properties we visited during our trip.

We ate a wonderful Irish breakfast (many other options available) in the sunroom over looking a beautiful countryside view, while Sam and Sheila were kind enough to answer the numerous questions my grandfather had for them regarding the property and the area. They even shared travel advice with me for another trip I plan to take with my wife later in the year, including sending detailed information/recommendations in an email. The service was truly great.

Combine all these factors with a very affordable stay and you have an you have an incredible value. If you stay in Kenmare, make it with Sam and Sheila.

Our hostess greeted us promptly with a cup of tea and a warm Irish welcome. She showed us our room which was large, new , decorated nicely and very modern. We had a king bed and there was also a single available in the room (Not Crowded) The full bath was large by many European standards, however it was with shower only. We were on the second floor and enjoyed a beautiful view of the rolling pastureland behind the house. The breakfast was a full Irish breakfast with a nice continental breakfast selection as well. There were cereals and fresh fruits on the serving table. The hostess was very warm and personable spending some time just talking and getting to know each other like family. We enjoy the b and b stays because of the chance to get to know some native people. Sheila Kemp (the hostess) was able to give us history and knew the area well. The house is new and appeared to be built as a bed and breakfast home. The area is quiet and peaceful. Don't forget to have fish and chips at Whartons in town: it is a cut above the rest.

We stayed with Sheila and Sam for 3 very comfortable nights.
They made us very welcome and went out of their way to make our stay enjoyable - even taking and collecting us from the pub one evening and lending us their cool box for a picnic!
We were able to use the lounge during the evening, and the outside deck is a great place to relax and catch the sun - as we did!
