After numerous email communications and date changes, Sheila remained gracious and accommodating. After arriving into Kenmare from Kinsale, not realizing just how grueling a trip through the mountains after dark it would be and how long it would take, we were warmly welcomed by Sheila who had to stay up waiting for us! In spite of the late hour, she took the time to get us settled into our room and brought us ice and answered all our questions. The family room we rented was huge with 2 large armoires. The King bed was great, having only had queen size at every other B&B we had stayed. Everything was clean and beautiful and the bathroom had a nice big shower. Breakfast was served in a wonderful sunporch overlooking open fields. The food was fresh and delicious, with many choices, both hot & cold. Sheila and Sam were wonderful hosts, making us feel very much at home. After breakfast, they asked us all about our travel plans and helped us map out the best route to Dingle. We felt like we got to know them and their family a bit, which made it special. Forgefield house is outside of town in a quiet location, very convenient to Killarney and Dingle Peninsula. We wished we could have stayed another day. I would definitely return and highly recommend it to anyone who wants a good home base from which to explore Killarney, Ring of Kerry & Dingle Peninsula.
