An evening at the Wild Garlic will cost you a bit more than other Kenmare restaurants. It is absolutely worth it though. We paid 80€ for two people (starter, main, dessert, 2 glasses of wine). Food was excellent, service very good. Nice, calm atmosphere contrasting Kenmare's "beer and fries places".

Our review title says it all. The food in the WIld Garlic is stunning, the staff are wonderful & friendly and the atmosphere is top notch......however the wait for the table ruined the experience. We booked for 9.30 which the only time available. We received a lovely friendly call to advise that they could accommodate us at 9pm which we were delighted with. On arrival, we were left to sit in a draughty, cold hall for 35 minutes! We have to say that the food was so good that it was worth the wait, but they should have a waiting area that is appropriate to the restaurant standard. Our waitress was a lovely lady who took great care of us and was most apologetic for the delay... Which was not her issue. My husband had beautiful and fresh crab salad with bloody Mary sauce and I had mushroom Risotto which I devoured! We followed with Lemon Sole for him served with great roasted veg and I had spinach and ricotta ravioli which again was devoured! Worth checking out this lovely restaurant when in Kenmare but make sure to agree the reservation time!

The food was impeccable; the mussels were to die for, the pork entree delicious, starters were excellent. Good service and a very nice ambiance.

Ate here on a Wednesday and restaurant was very busy but they do not have several sittings so you are not rushed off your table.. Tables are nicely laid out and not too close to each other. Food was really good and tasty and service excellent. I had delicious turbot with a lovely foamy pea sauce and my husband had a huge tender piece of steak. Will definitely return.
