“Delightful Dinners”
Reviewed April 14, 2013

On a recent quick trip to Kenmare, my husband and I had to wonderful meals at No. 35. Each night we had their super mussels in a cider broth. Two fish entrees were perfect as were the fries and goat cheese salad. We topped it all off with a "brew pub" type beer from Dungarvan. All in all we couldn't have been happier.

“Great food and service”
Reviewed April 6, 2013

Yes it was more pricey than regular pub food but you get what you paid for. No 35 served delicious food and offered great service for the price that you pay. The seafood was fresh and well cooked. The waitstaff was attentive and friendly. The restaurant is set up so that it is suitable for both romantic dinners and big family dinners. Overall, definitely worth the price!

“91 euros for a meal it was impossible to enjoy”
Reviewed April 2, 2013 via mobile

The headline tells the story
We arrived and the restaurant was empty. We were set in a lovely table by the window on the ground floor. Shortly afterwards two other groups arrived and were ushered upstairs, no problem for us .... Yet

We ordered and after a reasonable time our meals arrived - they were nice, but not exceptional, nothing to write home about.
But all was still good ... And then the fire alarm went off.

No one moved, we were by the door so didn't really feel we had too and our food was in front of us.

The waitress rushed around and after 2 minutes the piercing sound of the alarm was quashed. To be replaced by a much more piercing screaming which cut right through you. The waitress came and told us it would turn off in a minute. Wrong. 15i minutes later we were struggling through our meal with hands clasped over ears between mouthfuls. I had paper rammed in my ears.

The waitress had disappeared. It was apparent that the scream noise was not disturbing upstairs - so she stayed there.

We decided to leave. I was writing my address on a napkin so they might bill me - if they had the gall to do so.

Then the chef appeared briefly. Saying nothing to us, but clearly irritated he flicked a switch and the torturous noise was OFF !

Why had that not been done before ... Why no apology ??

The waitress then arrived and on seeing how pee'd off we were offered the wine for free. We paid and left ... Anything to get away

Now I know alarms go off. But abandoning distressed customers is inexcusable - really good service shines when things go wrong. What we had was appalling service, and average food. What's that worth ? Not much

Thank you for your review .Firstly apologies about the sounding of the fire alarm during service ,this was a pure accident ,The Combi oven was opened accidently and filled the kitchen with steam,We did silence same as soon as we could ,we did call to your table 3 time to apologise and ask if you wanted to be moved ,and gave your wine complementary Fire alarms are there to save lives in an event of Fire, thankfully it was a false alarm on this occasion ,
Best Regards

“Our best meal in Kenmare”
Reviewed April 1, 2013

A very cozy atmosphere and excellent service helped to make this our favorite restaurant in Kenmare. The seafood au gratin was the most incredible thing I've ever tasted and the salmon and cod entrees we had were prepared perfectly. I also loved the popcorn amuse bouche:). Everything was delicious and to top it off, we had their dessert special--the apple and raisin pie with fresh cream and vanilla bean ice cream. So amazin--I can still taste it...
