“5++ star experience”

There just aren't enough superlatives to describe our stay at Caragh-Heights. We are a retired couple and rented the cottage for 3 months (Dec-Feb) and before we knew it our time was over - our stay was far beyond expectations!. If we could give it more than 5 stars we absolutely would. We arrived during storm Desmond and the journey from Dublin to Kilorglin took far longer than we had hoped so it was such a relief to see Annette still waiting for us at the Bianconi Inn. It was dark, stormy and freezing cold but when we arrived at the cottage, Annette had a warm, welcoming fire going - so lovely. As well, the welcome basket was a godsend and so appreciated on a stormy night. So thoughtful! Because there were so many homey touches and attention to detail throughout, the cottage easily became our home-away-from-home. It was very clean, cozy, well stocked with every kitchen utensil you could possibly need, lots of spare blankets if needed and it was very quiet. It didn't take long for Annette and Niall's warm Irish hospitality to wrap around us - what wonderful hosts they were!!
If you love to watch birds and wildlife, this is a perfect location. We saw hares and even a deer eating right outside the kitchen window! During our stay, 6 named storms blew in and some days it was too nasty to go out. It didn't matter - it was absolutely breathtaking to watch the ever-changing scenery and skies from the living room windows.
The location of the cottage was perfect for us and, because it was winter time, it was very quiet and peaceful. However, Kilorglin is only 10 minutes from the cottage by car, Killarney is 30 minutes (if you need anything from Marks & Spencer or Boots) and there are plenty of pubs close by for a great Irish lunch!
Caragh-Heights was wonderful - Annette made it so. We have no hesitation in highly recommending this amazing cottage. We absolutely loved it and will be coming back for another 3 months in November.

“Excellent view, nice location”

We honeymooned at the cottage and could not have asked for more. The view and the setting are spectacular. The cottage is clean and comfortable. Toni is a writer (tchaas.com) and wouldn't hesitate to return and finish up a novel or two!

“Brilliant stay at a lovely cottage with breathtaking views!”
Reviewed April 27, 2015 for a stay in April 2015

Annette was a great host, showed us round the cottage and gave us lots of suggestions for things to do during our stay. She also left us some biscuits and easter chocolate which was great! The cottage was very clean easily spacious enough for the four of us. We especially enjoyed sitting in front of the fire each night. Great location but a car is definitely needed during your stay. One thing I cannot stress enough is how stunning the views are from this house. The large windows throughout the house mean you always get a brilliant view over the lake which seems to change day by day depending on the weather. I would definitely recommend this property and the price is very reasonable too.

Great stay, thanks Annette!

“Relaxing Break, Wonderful Views”
Reviewed April 1, 2015 for a stay in March 2015

Feeling totally revived following our stay at Caragh Heights.
Annette, the owner, made us feel really welcome and had some great suggestions for local trips. We did a couple of trips to Dingle and Killarney, but we were just as happy relaxing on the terrace, taking in those wonderful views of the lake and mountains.
There is something really special about this place. Thanks for a great break Annette. We'll be back!

“Perfect lake getaway right on the Ring of Kerry!”
Reviewed March 29, 2015 for a stay in March 2015

We had a wonderful family vacation at Caragh Heights Cottage. The house was clean, well kept, and in the perfect location. Annette was the perfect host, making sure we had everything we needed (including a crib for our daughter) and was always available to answer questions. The closest village is Killorglin, which has several good restaurants and grocery stores. Also, the house was close to the Ring of Kerry, Dingle, Killarney, and other great sites in the area. I would strongly recommend staying here and will likely stay there again sometime.

“Excellent Location”

Our stay at this quaint and well appointed house was fabulous. The house itself is charming with an amazing view overlooking Lake Caragh. Two of the four mornings here we woke up to rainbows and it made us feel like we were experiencing the real Ireland!! One of the reasons we chose this accommodation over others was the ideal location. It is perfectly situated to explore the Dingle peninsula, the Ring of Kerry and Killarney. We had looked at staying in the Dingle area but glad we didn't as it would have been that much further to drive each day to the other places we wanted to visit. It was nice to stay in a quiet, beautiful, peaceful place but still only be minutes from the charming town of Killorglin where you will find everything you need. Highlights: the bog village, the bakery in town, the fresh caught smoked salmon and the beautiful scenery. Annette was fabulous to work with and was there to greet us and walk us through the cottage. We did quite a bit of sight seeing but reserved time to just hang out and enjoy our charming cottage as well as spend time getting to know the locals, I highly recommend the Fishery Bar where Mike, the owner, treated us like family and we got the chance to meet many local sheep farmers and cattle ranchers and had a splendid night chatting with them. Also had the very best fish and chips as well as oysters at the Towers hotel that I've ever had!! What a wonderful place!! Will definitely be back :)

A| wonderful welcome from a smiling face. A comprehensive intro' rundown of the property & its services. The owner & her family live only a short distance away &. offer an immediate response to any queries you may have. There are many top-end restaurants within a short walk/drive as well as pubs-some with conversation others with Trad- Irish music & bar-food.We would recommend Jack's in Cromane, Nick's in Killorglin & Carreg House hotel en-route to Glenbeigh for the former & Glenbeigh Hotel,The Red Fox en-route to Killorglin which itself has many bars, delis & a good Aldi ( don't miss Flavey's Pub we enjoyed it having great CRAIC with the owner & locals)In season. given favourable conditions the game fishing could be good, however we experienced an Indian Summer - not good for the angler.THE VIEW IS STUNNING,THE SUNSETS MEDITERRANEAN -DON'T MISS!
