“Leisure by the Sea”
Reviewed August 8, 2012

This was a beautiful stay (albeit only one night since we were new to Ireland, our first trip) for one night - overlooking the water and emerald fields. Our room had a great view and the amenities were first class. We even got to order our breakfast from a menu in our room. Modern bathroom and 1st class bed linens similar to the heavenly beds in 5-star hotels.
This is within 5 minutes from beautiful strands (beaches) and Dingle Peninsula which is SPECTACULAR!! Annette was very helpful providing us with the route and it was all easy and leisurely. I forgot my pyjamas in the bathroom and Annette sent them to me back to the USA, freshly laundered. Very kind of her!

We spent only one night in this beatiful b&b, and we were astonished of the elegance and the size of the house. Everything was cute and accurate.
Our host felt us very comfortable. Our room was big and with a splendid view of the sea. maybe it is too close to the kitchen and the food smell was coming in the room. In the morning ,our salmon and scrambled eggs was excellent but all the breakfast was at very high standard with homemade sweets.
We definitely recommend this place.

We stayed at The Shores B&B on July 26 for 2 nights. From our arrival Annette made us feel right at home. We were given a choice of two sea-view rooms and chose the mini suite with a separate living room and kitchen. This gave us room to spread out for our stay. The accommodations were wonderful with nice touches like an electric "coal stove" to take the chill off of the cool Irish evenings.

Breakfasts were all that I had read about and more. I had recently had an issue with eating wheat and told Annette about it after the first day. That evening when we returned from our trip around the Sleighhead Trail in Dingle Annette handed me a loaf of bread she made from spelt, a less refined type of flour. She then served it to me in the AM at breakfast. I anxiously ate it because I did not know if I would have a reaction. I did not and that bread made the rest of my trip around Ireland much more enjoyable. I have never had such personalized attention in any hotel or B&B. When I relayed the good news to Annette and asked for the recipe she said she would gladly send it but she had to drive to Tralee, about 45 minutes away to purchase more spelt. Wow. That is customer service even five days after we had left. I guess that is why The Shores consistently gets a 5 star rating.

Room Tip: Ask for the two level suite with separate living room and kitchen. It is secluded and has great vi...

Our stay in Ireland was wonderful but the highlight was our stay at the Shores. We arrived, four friends from Brooklyn on a rainy night at 10pm. Annette was waiting for us and our beautiful rooms were set up with tea and cakes. All the touches in her home were exquisite including the linens and the decor. The breakfast was the best, and the breakfast set up was so beautiful. The per person price per night was underpriced and as such we each gave her more money for our stay, if you could believe that.
Annette can surely raise her prices and it is well worth whatever the rate. The review is coming from someone who has traveled the world and has stayed in many hotels and properties. The place is highly recommended, i mean very highly recommended. Best , best , best ever

Room Tip: Any room is a good room, we stayed in two rooms. if you want a room with a tub you should ask for it...

This guesthouse is quite simply amazing. I have stayed in many hotels over the years and very few of them live up to the experience we had here. From the minute we arrived we received a warm welcome from Annette. Our view from our room was perfect, looking out onto the coast.

The room and house in general was always spotless and extremely well presented. The full Irish was better than any I have had before. Everything was just perfect. Cannot recommend this place enough.

Next time we are down this way there is no question where we will be staying.

This B & B is nothing short of outstanding. Excellent, warm service with fantastic attention to detail. The views and standard of the rooms is unrivalled; the breakfasts were fabulous. The view from our bedroom was breathtaking. We couldn't recommend this highly enough. Book early and enjoy! You will not find a warmer welcome in the whole of Ireland, and the road to Dingle over the Connor Pass offers some of the finest views we've ever seen on our trips to the Emerald Isle.

Room Tip: Ask for a sea view.

We are here in Kerry on holiday with the family. Immediate impression is of a classy operation. Annette's attention to detail is tip top. The rooms are comfortable and immaculate, the view is to die for and the breakfast would put a 6 star hotel to shame. Definitely the best breakfast we have ever experienced in our varied travels. Annette and her staff are incredibly helpful, nothing is too much trouble. If you are thinking about coming to Kerry....you must come here.
