The food was excellent.
I had heard a lot of good things about this restaurant in advance so was delighted to get a table for five of us while on a recent holiday in the area. We had a few issues unfortunately, which took from what could have been a lovely evening. I would advise asking, when booking, for a table on the ground floor. Don't expect the service to be great. Do expect excellent food!

We were put at a table upstairs, which had insufficient headroom. My nephew banged his head several times off the angled ceiling. An error with the order for another table meant we got our starters within minutes of ordering, with no drinks on the table.
The starter courses were excellent. The quality is similar to that in some of the top restaurants in Dublin / London / New York!

The service really let the place down, for us. The waitresses themselves were lovely people, nice and friendly - but they really had no interest in serving tables. We waited more than 20 minutes for our finished dinner plates to be removed and waited another 25+ minutes before having to ask for a dessert menu, although we just wanted to leave by then. We also asked several times for the very loud music to be turned down, which eventually was - suitable for the young staff, but not for the mature clientele. The restaurant has a lovely oldie worldie, atmosphere. It has so much potential, if it had the correct front of house staff. Did I mention, the food was excellent?!

I would like to go here again, but will be sure to get a better table, in the eye-line of staff!

Go for the food and you won't be disappointed. Very high marks for chef and kitchen staff. Sorry you were let down by front of house.

The atmosphere was rustic yet elegant. The food was absolutely delicious! The best of our trip! We arrived around 8pm, missing the early dinner. OUr daughter really wanted to calamari that was served on the early menu, and initially the chef said no to having that, but our waitress worked her wonders and was able to get our daughter the calamari. All of our meal were wonderful. The presentation was beautiful. Only wine is served and they only take cash, but it was so worth it. I would highly recommend this restaurant. It was one of the highlights of our trip to Ireland.

Food good - service was laughable. Prepare to have time on your side and a memory for what you ordered! Forgotten reservation, forgotten orders , we felt like forgotten customers....

Immaculate food in a cosy shebeen! Kerry Lamb is the only way to go, we all had it and was fabulous as was the service. Cosy, atmospheric and great food for a treat night out.
