“great food in a real restaurant”
Reviewed July 2, 2013

called into this restaurant with my son while in listowel a couple of weeks ago as it was dinner time and didn't fancy a cafe style meal and couldn't have been more impressed we both had cod and chips and from the moment we entered i was taken by the style and size of the place there s even a court yard out back to eat and drink that sheltered enough to make it cosy yet gives a holiday feel about the place any way the real reason we were there was because we were hungry and the waitress (Laura) guaranteed the fish and chips were as good as the meal i was dreaming about
and they were and the price was also as good so i went back Friday this time with my wife for an evening meal and can only say that this place should be in Dublin or London, this time we were serve by Karen who was professional and very friendly she told us the chef is called billy but i think that must be a nickname as the food had to be cooked and presented by a marco or maybe billy roux ? anyway the next time were in kerry we will definately be back

“birthday dinner mid week”
Reviewed June 5, 2013

I booked a table here mid week for my sisters birthday celebration based on reviews I had read .It was a great meal from start to finish . We were a group of 5 adults and 3 kids and were seated in the snug downstairs which was perfect for our group .
We went straight to main courses and between us had sea bass , steak , salmon , beer battered cod and braised beef . While we did have a wait of about 25 min for our food it does state on the menu that food is cooked fresh to order so once you know that its not a problem . Food was delicious , everything perfectly cooked plus a big bowl of really fresh veg . Wine was well priced and we got to taste another on the menu courtesy of the house . Desserts were yummy and large , plenty for sharing if youy want to . Finished with good coffee . Very good value . Also early bird on Fridays 4-7 , 3 courses 15euro . We 'll be back .

“All Round Value”
Reviewed June 3, 2013

My friend and I were recommended by many to eat at this restaurant. We were not disappointed. Perfectly cooked vegetables and good seasoning. Friendly, efficient staff. Good quality red house wine. The chef really appreciated our praise.
