This large restaurant serves drivers on Paraguay's Ruta 1. There are three choices of types of offerings: full cafeteria, sandwich & empanadas line, and an ice cream stand, all within a large open space with ample seating for hundreds.
We stopped here twice in one day. First for a full cafeteria hot lunch and on our return for ice cream. The lunch offerings included beef, pork, chicken and fish - all hot dishes. Their vegetable and salad offerings are very wide, unusual for our experience in this country. All dishes were appropriately cooked and tasty. The ice cream choices were numerous, 15+.
I had three scoops, durazno (peach), coco (coconut), and banana. Both the peach and coco had pieces of them it them. Delicious - best we've had in our 20 day stay in country.
Don't expect any atmosphere here. It is all about getting travelers fed and on their way, in rating them I scored them high with those type restaurants in mind. However, the food, although certainly not gourmet, is well prepared, tasty and wholesome.
