“Very good pub food and beers”
Reviewed June 19, 2013

4 of us eat at the Red Lion. Food was better than expected a good choice on the menu. We were full after 2 coarses. This pub is difrent in side still got the old charm of years ago. Lighting is not the best but OK to eat by. Will go again. As it is diffrent to the rest in the area.

“Excellent Food”
Reviewed June 15, 2013

Food brilliant. Premises a bit rustic which added to the experience.
Don't forget to book it gets busy even mid-week.

“Good Pub, Good Beer, Good setting.”
Reviewed June 12, 2013

A truly great country pub in a fantastic rural setting. The beer was in good form, with an agreeable barman who served it to my taste without grumbling (as some do). The food was pricey, but plentiful, and good quality. It is really possible to split the lunchtime snacks between two people, if you are not gluttonous.

If you are in the area it is worth stopping off for something to eat, or a good pint of beer.

“excellent food, service a little slow on second visit”
Reviewed June 7, 2013

During a week in the peaks we went here twice, as it was so good. Had fish on our first visit, perfectly cooked, excellent sides, loved it. Went back for steak night, not tempted by the 32 oz rump!, went for the 8 oz fillet. It was delicious, and very good value, excellent chips, gorgeous mushroom sauce. Can't fault the food, excellent location, good atmosphere. Knocked one star off as although they were very busy, 45 minutes is a bit too long to wait for the food to arrive.

“Atmospheric Pub in lovely village”
Reviewed May 25, 2013

Fantastic local village pub retaining all its old features. It had been a cold day and the fires were lit which added to the charm. A good choice of food, service was swift & the meal itself was very tasty, we had the pie, haven't seen a piece of pie as big in a long time. Make sure you are hungry if you want a starter as well. We only managed the main course, booking a table advised to guarantee you eat there, we were lucky & just dropped in. The pub was full by 7pm and the atmosphere great.
