This is a great hotel, now ageing a little, but must have the best view of the bridge in town. A panoramic view of the whole harbour, in fact - what a shame the Sharp building was put up left of the bridge and obscures the Opera House. Stayed on 7th floor and with the double glazing closed, the train noises are not much of an inconvenience. Go higher to hear less! Recommend the bridge walk (by the road, not over the arch) - it's free, you get fabulous views and it only takes half an hour to get tp The Rocks. The hotel outsources its web services, therefore there is a charge, which, at $15 a day is too high and is outdated. The service doesn't work that well and I wasted an hour of my first day getting connected and having to talk to customer services in India to get a second device connected. They allow two!

Room Tip: Get as high as you can to avoid train noise. Suggest floor 7 and upwards are OK

4 nights covering new years eve and stayed on the 7th floor and had absoloutly perfect panoramic views of the harbour and the bridge for the fireworks..having travelled from england with my girlfriend i was nervous the view would not be upto scratch but it didnt disapoint and new years eve was amazing as always. i have a disabilty and use 2 prostetic legs but the hotel is accessible in and out so that is not a problem however they dont have accessible rooms from what i gather so as a result i was showering sat on the floor so be aware before booking if you have a disability. The only down side of this hotel were the food prices maybe as it was just new years eve im not sure but we got charged $30 each for what was a pretty average full english buffet so for 2 of us it worked out mega exspensive for the 4 days and we ended up eating elsewhere out of principle but for the views and style and keep of the hotel its definatly worth it!

Room Tip: make sure you ask for a panoramic room as not all rooms have them as standard and try and get breaki...

We stayed on the 9th floor for two nights in late December. The view of the bridge and harbour was just amazing. Our room was a good size and had everything you need. Like many other reviews the noise of the train was a bit annoying but not loud enough to worry us too much and didn't disturb our sleep at night. Hotel staff were very friendly and helpful. The location of this hotel is really good being close to the train station and a short walk to Launa Park where you can also hop on a ferry.

Room Tip: Ask for a room with a view of the harbour

This is our regular go to hotel if we need to stay somewhere in Sydney after a party or concert. Great value that wont break the bank, but ticks all the boxes. Rooms are your standard size, best views of the harbour overlooking luna park u can see the bridge and opera house pretty much from any room in the hotel. The beds are great, like sleeping on a cloud. There is free parking, underground and secure which is great if ur going out in the city. Leave the car and take a $10 taxi ride over the bridge and your done. 2 min walk to north Sydney station also.
The staff and room service are great, there is a 24 hour menu if u feel like a burger at 2 am after a big night.
The best thing though, is the buffet breakfast. Bacon, eggs, fruit, cereal, pancakes, danishes, yogurt, coffee, newspapers. Makes a great relaxing end to your stay before you check out.
Downside?
There is not much to do at the hotel itself, no pool however they will give you free tickets to the ocean baths near luna park if your keen. But as somewhere just to sleep and eat its fabulous and very affordable.

Room Tip: All the rooms are similar but if u want REALLY good views of Sydney, the higher the better.

My wife and I visited Sydney between the 3rd and 7th of January to celebrate our sons 28th birthday and stayed at Sydney's Harbourview hotel where we had a pleasant stay eighteen months or so ago.
The basic requirements provided at this hotel seem to have taken a nosedive since our last stay with water pressure being horrendously poor necessitating some showers to be taken at our sons house in order to feel as though a shower has been had and we were thoroughly clean. This coupled with windows that would not close, a raised step between the bathroom and entry to the shower which resulted in my wife suffering two falls, one which almost resulted in her head hitting the bathroom basin, also the bathroom had an unsightly chip on the door the bonding silastic on the shower floor was lifting, the ceiling was marked and dirty and the provision of single portions for only one visitor of shampoo, conditioner and body lotion were inadequate. The carpet on the ninth floor lobby just outside the lifts had stretched with large wrinkles and folds evidenced throughout this area, providing a dangerous surface where an elderly or physically challenged individual could suffer a very nasty fall.
To sum up, a great view from our window has been the only positive regarding our stay at this establishment.

Room Tip: Look before you commit. Lots of noise from passing trains. Stay away from the lifts.

We stayed here for just the one night before moving to a hotel at the International airport terminal before heading home to NZ. We cannot fault this hotel. We'd read the reviews before we booked and therefore asked for a room on the upper floors. Floor 12 was the result, with an amazing view of Sydney. No sleep disturbance at all. We had dinner in the restaurant and the food was beautiful, as was breakfast the next morning (which was included in our package). They even let us leave the car in their car park the following day while we got the train into Sydney to do some sightseeing. Solved our problem of where to put the car before heading out to the airport. Staff were all friendly, courteous and efficient. Yes, the water pressure could have been better in the shower, but it did the job. We will definitely stay here again if given the opportunity.

Room Tip: If you are a light sleeper then definitely ask for a room on the upper floors. They don't hide...

Perfect location to enjoy Sydney. Shared a room with friends for a weekend away. Booked a twin room with a roll out bed (that was $30 extra per night) on the 4th floor. Yes, it was noisy, but it counteracted with the location and the views. The Station Hotel pub/bar opposite serves lovely food at $10 each, and the train station is 1 min walk from the hotel reception. Tickets to city are $4.80 return, so very cheap to explore the surroundings. Would recommend this place to others.

Room Tip: Stop en route to buy essentials as mini bar and little shop next door are VERY expensive! ($5 for a...
