If you are considering visiting Sydney this is a very good choice. The rooms are comfy and spacious and most importantly very clean. My room on the eleventh floor had a walk in shower which was very good and modern. In the bedroom there is a picture window with fantastic views of the Sydney Harbour Bridge, Darling Harbour and Circular Quay. Between 5.30 and 6.30 p.m. there is a happy hour in the main bar which is welcome as I found Sydney quite expensive. The North Sydney Train Station is a few hundred yards from the hotel which is convenient but passes underneath which is not. I was initially given a lower room on the fourth floor but did not stay there five minutes as a train passed under and was so noisy. Trains run late into the night and early in the morning so beware. If noise does not effect you then no problem; for me it is so I asked and was moved to the eighth floor. I stayed in this room two days but I found this was still quiet noisy; by chance the financial director of the hotel introduced himself one morning and enquired about my opinion of the hotel I indicated that rooms, staff, cleanliness, linens, towels, beds, service were great but the noise from the trains was a block to me sleeping. I was immediately offered a move which I accepted and changed to the 11th floor on the other side of the hotel which was great; better views and very little noise. I tried the hotel restaurant for breakfast and dinner and the food was very good but slightly expensive although it is good value. Get a weekly rail transport card and you can travel on buses, trains, light rail and ferries for the one price. I really liked this hotel which is in a business district and socially quiet after office hours. The area was safe and there is a convenience store nearby. In balancing costs location and requirements with transport this is a very good choice. Finally, I met with the GM Stuart who was charming, very efficient and knew of my move for noise reasons and was concerned with the quality of my stay. This is not my usual experience and I was impressed with the attention to detail of a senior manager.
