This is a superb restaurant in a rural location within 20 minutes of Carcassonne. As it is off the beaten track you need to be sure of your directions to find it.
The “chambres et tables d’hotes” is run as a true family business. Unusually for a B&B they run a full restaurant service throughout the year. You can choose the number of courses you have. It is superb value for money.
We chose the 3 course “surprise” dinner, which means that Jolanda checks the party’s dietary preferences on the telephone, and then constructs a meal round that. They have their own kitchen garden so the vegetables are very tasty. Chateau de Cointes wines (the best local vineyard on the Roullens side of the massif de Malepere) were served with our meal at an all-inclusive price, but the family are moving to a new formula from November, to allow a wider choice of local wines at a variable price. Our meal was superb. The service was extremely friendly. We had a corner table, next to large picture windows so could enjoy the night view of the lights of the Cite de Carcassonne.
This restaurant comes highly recommended.
