When we first arrived at the raddle inn we were a little bemused to find that the cabins were just on top of the car park above the raddle inn pub so for location out of 10 we give it 2 as the side view is just a muddy embankment.

As we drove up to the cabin the outside presentation was poor, for example the cabin was dirty cobwebs over it with discoloured wood but nothing a 10min jetwash wouldn't fix, also the varnish on the doors and windows and outside furniture desperately needs redoing. Inside it was the little things like, shower rails look well worn, discoloured shower seals, picture hooks with no pictures.

Other than these odd little things the hottub was a bonus and the best part and made the stay worthwhile.

If the little odd things were fixed and the cabins generally tidied up from the outside they would be so much better.

We stayed in cabin 5 for two nights whilst visiting Alton towers which is less than 10 minutes away and will book it again for our next visit. The cabin was easily big enough for 6 adults with a double bed, 2 singles and 2 double sofa beds however I feel if both sofa beds where used it would be a little cramped. There are all the cooking utensils you could need in fact far more than we had expected, The hot tub in or cabin was lovely and on all the time, with lovely views from the deck. The place was clean and comfortable. We only had one problem that the bathroom sink dripped but it was not a big issue and I believe it will be fixed by now.

1. I tripped up the top two concrete steps coming up from the Raddle Inn in the dark and badly bruised my forearm and soiled my trousers on the grimy wet concrete surface. After eight days my arm still hurts. If I had fractured my arm I would now be suing you for damages. There is one light at the bottom of the steps but is hidden by shrubs and anyway would cast a shadow up the steps so making the steps invisible in the dark. I am visiting my GP on Friday to check that I have not damaged my arm in any way.
2. There were no towel rails at all for drying our towels after using the hot tub or after showering. There was one small broken towel rail bracket in the bathroom but no rail. More towel rails are required, enough for say 6 people’s towels.
3. The skirting board was missing between the bathroom and bedroom.
4. The microwave occupied most of the single worktop and so it was difficult to prepare meals. It should be on a shelf out of the way.
5. The bread bin was on a shelf above head level which was impossible to reach by my wife. A lower shelf is required.
6. The outdoor light did not come on as we climbed the steps to the cabin in the dark and so it was quite dangerous and it was difficult to find the keyhole in the dark. The steps were not level and so made it difficult to climb up.
7. The two single bed mattresses were covered in grit before the sheets were put on. Not very hygienic.

Room Tip: Ask when booking if there are any towel rails after using the hot tub. There were none on my visit.

Visited for a meal following comments made by friends and Family that the food and quantity was something to be seen. Arrived without realising that it was advisable to book a table but we were found a nice table and orded our meals ( 4 of us), The size of the portions are amazing its just a pity that the quality lets it down. the chips whilst home made were only half cooked and rubbery, they had either been blached then stuck in a microwave or just blanched then re heated some other way noway had they seen they frier a second time, such a pity as the selection of fish on the Fishermans platter was excellent, the same could be said for the steak and ale pie, the pastry was not crisp just sad. The price we paid was fair value, but when the yong lady came to clear the table and asked if everything was all right and the above comments were made she just walked off with a blanc look on her face. Please cut down on the quantity and concentrate on quality.

Stayed at the Raddle Inn, August 3rd thru 5th, 3 nights.

Booked log cabin 4, complete with hot tub.
No problems checking in, had made the reservation earlier in the year, paid the balance on CC and was given the key - only one key available so if there are several couples only one gets a key.
Parking is plenty, we parked next to the cabin, easy access. It rained every day, but the cabins are dry.
TV and Wi-Fi reception were great, watching the Olympics and followed them on the web.
Kitchen are is not too large, but has all the necessary equipment, fridge, microwave, gas cooker (including oven if you're tempted to cook), bread bin, utensils, plates, cups, pans, etc.
Bathroom is quite large and the water was hot and no problems with pressure.
A surprise was the hot tub, these units run 24 hrs a day, every day, so you just swing the cover-up, switch the lights on and turn the jets to high. Water temperature was great, after a day walking it was just what the doctor ordered!

Food in the Raddle Inn - we ate three nights running and had Sunday lunch there as well, seen a few earlier reports saying the food was not very good - can't say anyone of the 50 or so people that were in our group had a bad meal or bad comment. The sweet menu is great, and the cheese board provided were very large portions.

The bedrooms are well fitted out with fresh linen and towels, plenty of cupboard space. Ironing and board were provided in each cabin in case you needed them.

Only issue (with all the wet weather) was drying, no rails or hooks to hang things on to dry out - when the sun did come out we hung our clothes out on the veranda, so not a total loss there.

There’s a play area for the kids with a bouncy castle, and outside area (covered) for smokers with patio heaters

Handy for the local attractions. Cheadle is 5 miles away, where you can find Asda and Morrison’s supermarket for food, papers and other provisions.

Overall would recommend for couples and families.

Try cabin 5, seemed to have the best view and tub arrangement

We booked here because Quarry Walk wouldn't accept under 25's and the Star Caravan site was pathetically strict.
We arrive already having paid in full, found out where we needed to pitch up and set up.
The "campsite" is a field/hill that has been allocated for camping. Just what you need, open fresh air, great views and quiet. Barely any traffic..... The showers, let's just say that they were an experience and not for the faint hearted.
So close to Alton Towers it's good for a getaway..... But wasn't our first choice.

Just recently came back from a four night stay at the raddle inn we found it very enjoyable, comfortable and clean. The kids loved the stay, the hot tub was the perfect way to relax in the evening. Location was perfect very peaceful and not to far to travel for the days out we had planned. Overall we had a great time and would defaintly go back again
