Description: Placed on the white powdery sands of L'anse Aux Epines Beach, The Beach Club at the Calabash offers the perfect lunchtime setting. British chef Mark Banthorpe fell in love with the island's flavours, and this love lead him to create an exciting menu focused on Grenada's natural ingredients and spices. Lunch is served between 12 noon - 3pm and "tapas" bites and cocktails available from 10.30am - 6.30pm everyday.

Mark B and his team run a fabulous beachside restaurant at the Calabash hotel which is full of innovative surprises. The tapas menu is a delight with some real surprises and Mark even puts a twist to the old favourites - expect a bite to his burgers! Mark uses the freshest of local ingredients and there are a few specials each day. The fresh local fish is always excellent and the salads refreshing whilst the banana crumble is out of this world. So if you find yourself in Grenada and you should certainly put Grenada on your list, the trip would not be complete without at least a couple of visits to Mark's restaurant. One other thing, on a Sunday lunchtime you can enjoy some great live music between 1 and 3pm.

“Enthusiasm for fantastic food”
Reviewed March 22, 2013

You know its a great restaurant when the Chef is so enthusiastic about his menu that, when asked about the daily specials, he takes the time to explain the ingredients and flavours of each dish. We always went for the specials because of this and it was always exceptional. The food, the staff and the setting makes this a place not to be missed.

“A moment of pure delight”
Reviewed March 15, 2013

We were delighted to have 'found' Mark again [we are fans of his excellently prepared dishes] now at the Bash Restaurant and enjoyed a superb lunch, sat in the lovely Caribbean crafted restaurant on the beach with views of blue sea, blue sky and yachts. The Banana Crumble, which we regretably shared and wished we had had one each, was so delicious we persuaded him to cook more for us on another day.

We rate Mark's food highly and strongly recommend anyone on the island to try his wonderful creations. You will inevitably come back for more and more as we did.

“Amazing”

Love this restaurant. Food is amazing and must save room for dessert. The restaurant is modern and looks out over the beach. The staff are very nice with helpful advise.

“Attractive beach setting with refreshingly good food”
Reviewed March 6, 2013

The food is very fresh and current. Much of the island food is fried but Mark B serves locale and Caribbean cuisine with an upscale flare. Very nice for lunch. There seemed to be some tension between the servers which detracted from the ambience a bit.
The crowd is on the older side for the most part. There was a very good folk singer performing which was relaxing. You need to walk through the Calabash Hotel to get to the restaurant. The grounds are lovely but it makes everything a bit more formal then it needs to be for beach front dining.
