The B&B where we stayed recommended the Goat on our first night in Wales, and we enjoyed it so much we ended up going 3 nights in a row , which is very unlike us ! It is worth pointing out that booking is essential as they get very busy any nights of the week. The staff is very attentive and efficient. The warm bread brought as you order is a nice touch. We had the chance to try a wide range of main courses and all were invariably excellent and beautifully presented. The grilled cod loin with garlic butter was moist and tasty, the steak and kidney pie was very rich , although the puff pastry disc added just before serving looked nice but was rather bland in comparison . The fish pie was again very tasty , and so was the pork tenderloin . The helpings are generous , and the accompanying vegetables well seasoned. The salad is fresh and the addition of a couple of sliced strawberries on top was a very good idea ( I will have to copy it ! ) . We chose a different red wine on each night, the Shiraz was very good, and so was the Pinot noir but for value for money's sake and would definitely recommend their house wine which is a southern French little number and comes in a 1 litre bottle . It was as rich and as smooth as the previous 2 we had before but a little cheaper. My only disappointment was the fact that our dog had to wait in the car as she was not
welcome inside. We are so used to taking her in all pubs and restaurants when we go to Cumbria and The Lakes . Small issue though , as I would definitely return there !

We dined here twice and had different experiences... The first night was fantastic, they were busy but managed to find us a table. The service and food was great, we loved it so much we booked in for the next Friday night. This time was different. We didn't order any starters as were were on a bit of a time limit as we wanted to be home by certain time and also wanted to fit in dessert. However it took over an hour for our main meals to arrive!! We were not sure of the hold up as the place was not as busy as the first time we were there, and there was also no apology or explanation for the delay. As the mains had taken so long, we did not chance ordering dessert. The food was great though and was sorry we did not get dessert.

High quality food with plenty of choice. Menu covers simple main courses to steaks, fish etc. All very good and reasonably priced. Would recommend that you book in advance even if on the day of visiting.

This is a very pleasant, unpretentious restaurant where what the food lacks in sophistication, it more than makes up for in wholesomeness and quantity.Staff are friendly and food is fresh which means that it can take a little while to arrive. The wait is invariably worth it. To add a small caution, the prices aren't cheap - especially the steak, but then again, most food is a little bit pricey in this part of North Wales. Maybe it is down to the lack of economies of scale. All in all, worth a visit and you won't be dissapointed.

This country pub has a good range of meals, freshly cooked and served by very pleasant staff. It was busy on a cold, March evening and deservedly so,
