My partner booked a Saturday night dinner, overnight and Sunday breakfast deal on a voucher, spectacular value for money. We enjoyed dinner, an interesting mix of British classics (e.g Fish and Chips), more trendy dishes such as Pulled Pork with sweet potato and retro food like deep fried brie with cranberry jelly. The standard room was spotless and perfectly adequate for an overnight stay, and proper coffee and fresh milk a bonus. Breakfast was super; a highlight for me was the home-made brown bread, a true treat to go with the fresh duck egg.

I'd also like to comment on the service. As others have said it was a bit chaotic but never less than friendly. Recommended.

We stayed here as part of a travelzoo deal. Arrived friday evening, lovely welcome, taken to our room, it was very tiny and very simple, felt a little like a premiere inn room. Thankfully the thermostat came off in the owners hand, we had to change rooms, the only available room was the bigger upgraded room, this was much bigger, amazing bathroom, nice stripe bath. Although still very plainly decorated. Dinner was l lovely, service was a little slow, put this down to it being the weeks before christmas, the breakfast the next day was nice as well . we were sat in the conservatory for both meals, i can imagine in the summer this would be lovely with the sun, to us at this time of year it felt as if we were sat seperatly from the rest of the restaurant, the conservatory is not in keeping with the rest of the restaurant which is a shame. Would come again, definitely upgrading the rooms a though!

We stayed here on a travelzoo voucher which was amazing value for money. Both The Beloved and I agreed that we would (and will) definitely return .Rooms are in a 'stable block' arrangement , which meant walking across snow/ice (curses to my high heels !) but clean, comfortable, with a cafitiere, kettle etc but best of all, a 'honesty' basket of walnut whips, jelly babies etc (I did not succumb but I felt happy knowing they were there :-) ) Sevice was disjointed in the evening because apprently an oven had broken, but all was explained and delays not unreasonable . Breakfast was a more enjoyable meal, great ingredients (fab bread!) all beautifully presented and served . Well done, we will be back .

We had an overnight stay with friends using Travelzoo vouchers and nearly didn't make it due to heavy snow! But I am glad we did because we had a very warm welcome from the staff, excellent dinner with a wide choice of meat and fish dishes, and fabulous desserts. Breakfast was based on local produce and was full of flavour. The rooms in the stable block style outbuildings were very clean with very cleverly shaped bathrooms. A nice addition was having your own cafetiere with fresh coffee in your room.

Room Tip: All rooms are quiet and not affected by the road in front of the restaurant.

My partner and I have just enjoyed another lovely lunch at The Case. We meet up with a couple of friends there regularly and have never been disappointed with the menu. There is something to please everyone at a very reasonable price. I have eaten at The Ivy in London and can honestly say that the food at at The Case is as good if not better.

I have read Travelzoo reviews hundreds of times but never felt the need to write one until now. We had a fab stay in comfortable rooms where everything was thought of. The food was super- the best pastry I have ever had- and the cooked breakfast using fresh ingredients (including duck eggs) was a fabulous end to a perfect stay. What made this special was the feeling of being a family guest rather than the general public. Yes we did go on a voucher but were in no way treated any differently. If you need to do business, the wireless Internet in the rooms is very quick.

Stayed at The Case using a voucher for an overnight stay with breakfast and a 2-course meal. The accomodation comprises stable-block style outbuildings but they have been fitted out to a good standard and were comfortable with a nicely appinted bathroom. A nice touch was fresh coffee bags and cafetiere in the room. My wife and I both enjoyed a good night's sleep and it was very quiet, being well set back from the road.

The food was very good. I had a beef wellington starter and a fish special from the blackboard for main, both of which were well presented and delicious. The wine list was good and we had a lovely bottle of chardonnay for around £20 (although, as we had a glass of wine each included in our package, they discounted this to £10 so it was a real bargain!). The staff were very attentive and friendly, not at all stuffy but also not too intrusive for an intimate meal.

Breakfast was very good too. The full english had Suffolk bacon, local butcher's sausages and the usual trimmings, all well cooked and served piping hot with plenty of toast. The toast was actually worthy of mention, as it was a soda bread made in their own kitchens. The bread rolls served with dinner were also hand-baked by their own chefs and were also top-notch.

The Case is located 10 minutes drive from Sudbury town in the lovely suffolk countryside so is a good base for exploring the area, including Long Melford (lovely old village with antique shops and tea rooms) and Lavenham (picture-postcard village with amazing houses that were built without the aid of a spirit level!). We also drove to Bury St Edmunds which is a lovely market town and only 20 miles from The Case.

We will definitely eat at The Case again and will watch out for any deals for overnight stays included as this makes it extra special and very good value for money.
