Bosch Luys Kloof Private Nature Reserve
Certificate of Excellence

After a one hour drive over an unmade up road we were releived to arrive at Bosch Luys main gate - but we couldn't figure out how to get in! Our host arrived on a motorbike and showed us the key hanging up on the gate! It was marked! We stayed in a bungalow (one of only eight)with a terrace looking out over the hillside, the room was very comfortable, possibly the best hotel bed that I have ever slept in. And they had the ultimate luxury, outside showers! The food is superb, all cooked by Jeanine who takes obvious pride in her craft. We had two game drives and saw the natural wild life of the area, we saw so many different antelope, birds and the wonderful scenery.

Room Tip: They are all equally good.

What a find! Pictures don't do BLK justice. The drive in, although initially a bit daunting in a 2 wheel drive rental was absolutely fine, the end result well worth it. A warm welcome, with a cold beer, fantastic accommodation, great views, with a wonderful sense of isolation.. All the staff were great, many thanks to Gerhard & Ans, guides Michael and Gerdus, and special thanks to Jeanine and Margie for some wonderful food. Barb still wants the recipe for the marvellous non dairy Brownie!!

Thank you all.

The location of Bosch Luys Kloof is spectacular. The chalets are ultra luxurious and extremely well appointed with breathtaking views. Gerhard and Ans are friendly and welcoming and willing to share their knowledge of the area. The Staff are all friendly and extremely helpful. We really enjoyed the Nature Drive to the Dam and the amazing 4x4 trip in Bosch Luys Kloof's vehicle to "The Hell and Gone". The views into Gamakskloof are amazing. We spotted lots of game on the way back in the evening. We enjoyed the self guided walks as well. We will definitely return.

We were blown away by our stay at Bosch Luys Kloof. The owners, Gerhard and Ans, have build fantastic place to escape and truely relax. We were so impressed with the staff. Friendly, polite, knowledgeable, professional and everyone went out of their way to make our stay enjoyable. I am a very fussy vegetarian and my husband loves his meat and every meal time we would say "now this is the best meal yet". The chef, Jeanine, is a marvel in the kitchen.
It was very hot in December so outdoor activity, namely mountain biking, hiking and running was best late afternoon.
The veiws and sceneray are breath taking but it is important to note that this is not a "game reserve for seeing the big 5". The wild life here is abundant but more birdlife, buck and the smaller animals.
We will definately go back - it is a real gem.

Room Tip: There is no cell phone reception ( which is one of the reasons is such a relaxing trip) but if you h...

Hosts are warm and welcoming, the personal attention to detail is a rare and welcome gem in this stunning find near Seweweekspoort! Loved the relaxed atmosphere of this luxury destination where guests can soak up the sun and beauty of the Kloof, enjoy lovely nature walks and river beds to discover the beauty, birds and animals! Food was too notch prepared by chef Janine, lovely attention to detail in table settings and all arrangements- our guide Michael is very knowledgeable and took us on a relaxing drive where we saw kudu, zebra, tortoise, hartebeest, gemsbok, springbok, klipspringer, baboons, dassies amongst others. Even found a fossil! All of us enjoyed this top class lodge at half the price!! Will be back for sure! Stay at least 2 to 3 nights to appreciate what the lodge and area has to offer! Self catering Guest house is beautiful, all amenities work and are top class. Had a lovely stay!

I was looking for a place to clean my body from all the craziness around WiFi and cell phones. I just wanted to sleep and rest. Naturally, I was looking for a place in the middle of nature. I found the place after a few calls. I was already happy to just be able to rest free from electro magnetic waves and was not expecting anything more, but this place is just paradise. You drive for more than 1 hour wondering where you will land and amazed by the breath-taking scenery. Suddenly you see the lodges. The warm welcome makes you feel at home right away. The staff is friendly and helpful. We went walking and photographing in this private nature. Surrounded by the mountains and nature you just take time to reconnect. Food is amazing and the nice fire in the dining room, good wine, great cook gives you a luxury special feeling. My only regret = we stayed only 2 nights. I will have to come back as it was way too short. I hope this place will stay forever as Immaculate as we found it as it is paradise on earth. I would recommend this place to all true nature lovers.
